harvin isn't old, that dude played with tebow. remember in another thread people were saying vick should go to minnesota. i think seattle is more of pro style offense they wilson out the pocket for so he can see, with harvin there you won't be able to spy on him. edit: 25
No I just wanted to quote Fla congresswoman Corrine Brown's famous Go Gata/Tim Tivo/Percy Harvey speech.
Big risk for Seattle but it could pay off next year. Will they offer Harvin the lucrative extension he craves? I think Harvin has some Delonte West in him plus he's injury-prone
Honestly this could seriously blow up in their face. Harvin is injury prone and from the sounds of it has a lot of attitude. Great deal for Minnesota, get picks and shed a little salary plus no more team disruption from him.
Big risk for Seattle. They gave up too much. They are going to give Harvin a monster contract as well. They are counting on him to do something he has never done in 3-4 years in the NFL, stay healthy and be a #1 for a full season.
Worth the risk if they can get an injury free year out of Harvey. No guarantee Tavon Austin would have been there when they picked at 26 or whatever. Seahawks WR's were pretty awful last year - I think they even looked at guys like Braylon Edwards and Terrell Owens at one point.
In his 4 years in the league, he's played 15, 14, 16, and 9 games. This last season was the only where he was out for any significant amount of time.
Per a league source, it’s a six-year, $67 million deal that replaces the last year of Harvin’s rookie deal, at $2.775 million in salary. Thus, the total average is $11.16 million. In new money (i.e., $67 million less the $2.775 million over five years), Harvin’s average annual haul is $12.845 million. He gets a $12 million signing bonus, paid in full by the end of 2013 in a state that has no income tax. The base salaries are $2.5 million in 2013 (fully guaranteed), $11 million in 2014 (guaranteed for injury for now, fully guaranteed on fifth day of the 2014 waiver period), $10.5 million in 2015, $9.9 million in 2016, $9.95 million in 2016, and $11.15 million in 2017. Thus, $14.5 million is fully guaranteed, with another $11 million guaranteed fully after the 2013 season. The total guarantee, then, is $25.5 million. He also gets $36 million over the first three years of the deal.
So Harvin might need hip surgery.

WR Percy Harvin's hip injury is problematic. And that's why you don't trade your 1st, 7th, and the following years 3rd round pick for a injury riddled player.
