I know there are some viewers on this board. I wanted to hear people's thoughts on last night's episode. Spoiler Captain Brainiac John gets eliminated because he is too cocky or too delusional to use the express pass, despite his girlfriend's repeated pleas to do so. I thought it was the dumbest move I have ever seen on the show, and then his denial at the end was even more dumbfounding. His girlfriend had to be pissed.
Yeah, I thought that he was a semi normal person albeit with a freaky weird perpetual smile, until last night. Now, I am certain that he is crazy. That being said, I wouldn't have wanted to waste the express pass either, but you have to take off running to use the pass when you see Mullet man grab the surf board and leave you there alone. I would have used it when I couldn't do the fruit display thing. Which also made no sense about why they couldn't do that... Just make it look like the example, how hard is that?
The perpetual smile was freaky. He even told his girlfriend that when they got to the other side of the detour he would use the express pass depending on how far along the roller derby girls were in the task. But inexplicably when he gets there and realizes they are already gone, he decides they should go ahead and do it anyway. The whole thing was mind boggling.
He must've picked up some Indonesian crack somewhere on that surfboard challenge because his ramblings at the end didn't even make any sense. He was weird on all of the other episodes, but last night he flipped the switch to a certifiable nutjob.
In his defense, he must have thought that roller derby had not shown up to the river sand yet either and therefore they were ahead of them. That must be what he was thinking at the end to, because when he came out and talked to his GF without a surfboard, he still thought they had one team behind them. She told him that they were last. They must have got to the surf shop after Roller Derby had already checked in, so he thought they were still behind them.
It was beyond hilarious. Had me rolling on the floor laughing. (Also, I think he's in the closet and his gf doesn't know, but whatever. Regardless at this point if he proposes after what happened on the show, no way she says yes). What slayed me was after they realized Chuck and Wynona had reached Phil at the pit stop, dude came back to his gf, told her he couldn't find the right surfboard AT THE SPECIFIC PLACE THEY WERE TOLD TO GET THE SURFBOARD and that he wanted to go look for the surfboard at another place!!!???? LOLOLOL His girlfriend was just dumbfounded. Then they get to Phil and I believe the guy told Phil that he had no regrets about not using the express pass as you can't look at the past or some rubbish quote/statement like that. DUDE, he had multiple chances to use the express pass but he just got himself and his gf eliminated. It was as classic a moment as the show has ever had imo.
The guy screwed up and failed to take responsibility for it. I believe they call that move a "Royce White".... So he Royce Whited it. DD
My first season to watch. I can't get enough of Chuck and Wynona. Great folks, he does most the heavy lifting, she's supportive, they're hilarious; fun team to watch. YouTube kids need off next.
Would you rather people watch Catfish? Not sure what's wrong with a show that takes contestants to different cities and countries around the world. For those that like or are interested in travel, it's not a terrible show to watch. (Obviously most shows on the Travel channel would be recommended for such people)
