Eww, that's a weak move for them. I guess it saves them room to grab that elite CB.

Yeah the Ravens lose a legit number 2 option.

Hell yeah. Big move since Moss isn't returning and Manningham will be cut.

Boldin trade will turn out to make Flacco's contract one of the worst deals recently

They were going to have to cut him anyway since he didn't want to restructure.

I understand that, but I am sure there are other teams that would have at least gave up a 2nd or at best 3rd rounder for him. They basically just gave him to SF for nothing

Doubt anyone would give that much up for him.

How much is he making this year? Seems like the Texans would have benefited by cutting Kevin Walter's $5 million and trading, say, a 4th round pick for him. Assuming he's making $8 or so million, then it would be a legit #2 receiver for a net cost of $3 million and a 4th round pick.

Eh it is possible. He is making about $6 million if I recall correctly. SF may have very well been the last team willing to take it on. I am just kinda shocked it was a 6th round pick though..

You don't see auctions in the NFL for overpaid guys. Teams know if they lowball and wait, the guy will probably be cut and they can get him for a quarter the price and keep their pick.

Rough offseason so far for the champs. Fine by me.
