So, my wife and I go through the McDonalds drive thru to get dessert because I'm fat and haven't been there in ages. I order a Mcflurry - oreo with fudge, cuz its awesome. So I get charged the extra forty cents or whatever, which is fine. When I get the Mcflurry, I notice there's no fudge in it. I show it to the manager, who is the one handing me the order, and she doesn't believe I ordered it with fudge until I show her the receipt. Then, she tells me, "oh yeah, I made that. It has fudge in it, but there's just a little bit, so it's hard to see." Now, I'm looking at it, pretty sure there's no fudge in it. So I drive off, thinking whatever, but I told my wife if there was no fudge I'm calling to complain. So I get home, and no fudge. So I call and ask to speak to the manager and she answers. I explain who I am and she remembers and I start to explain how she lied to my face and I don't appreciate it. I wasn't rude. I just told her I did not appreciate her lying to my face. She "sincerely" apologized a couple times and offered me free replacements. I told her I didn't want to come back in, that I just wanted her to know that I did not appreciate her lying to my face. I told her that I showed her the food and she didn't even look at it or try to fix it, she just simply told me it was right. She apologized a few more times and sounded like she was going to cry so I left it alone and hung up. Would you have done the same thing? Or more or less? I'm tempted to report her to a higher up, but she's fairly young and I don't know if I want her to lose her job.
Report her. Honestly, bad service is inexcusable. If this is a one time thing chances are she won't be fired. If she has a pattern of failure, well then she deserves what she gets...
No, I stated the opposite. This girl just needs to know it's not okay to lie to people. I think I proved my point to her. Just trying to see what others would have done.
She works in the service industry. SERVICE is the key word. Definitely report them for not doing their jobs.
To the people who say let it go, you are perpetuating the cycle of mediocre to poor service. If it's an isolated incident chances are McDonald's won't do a damn thing. If this is a pattern maybe just maybe change would occur. I guarantee you, if you accept mediocrity and apathy from people like this nothing will ever change. It's sad because these people are paid to do a job that they barely even do at times. I swear, if I went to my boss and said I did half an experiment, half of the grading I have to do, and showed up to half my classes she wouldn't stand for it. I'd be fired. I'm paid to do all my work, not half of it. When you order something, and only get half your order but pay the full price you are getting cheated.
I think you handled it in the right way. You calmly, without yelling, told her what she did was not okay. I'd leave it at that.
I believe him giving her a piece of his mind is enough. Honestly anything passed that and it would have been scummy on his part. It all depends on the situation.
Threaten to call corporate. A female friend of mine works at an Olive Garden, and she had 16 hispanics come in, only about 3 of them spoke english. When they received their food, they said it took too long and was cold, and that they were going to call corporate and complain. Long story short, they received 16 free meals. Easy peasy.
Either send a polite email to one of her superiors or just STFU and move on. No need to try to make her feel bad about it. That's a ****ty job that no one is excited to do, so her being less than ideal is understandable if a bit of a letdown. Having spent more than a few years working crappy jobs and customer service, I can assure you that sending a polite email would have been far more effective. What you did will only make her dislike her job even more.
I think you should call corporate and complain so they can replace this lady with someone that may care just slightly more than she does.
I would have drove back through and smashed the mcflurry on the drive thru window and went to another Mcdonalds. I seriously hate that place, and get screwed out of food every time I go. They never make good on anything. I don't go there so I don't have to smash food on the drive thru window. I would never do that at any other fast food place but McDonalds. I can't believe still get food from them any more, the worst fast food place ever.
Maybe she made a mistake..... Maybe she mistook your Mcflurry for someone else's.... Maybe she's new on the job.... Maybe you should go to Dairy Queen next time like a civilized person...
