I don't see what this has to do with Mchale?

They better be unprotected picks! Everyone knows the bobcats will suck for a long time

no, harden signed a 5 year extension after this year.

Daryl Morey - the one thing that the majority of CF can agree on! Glad he got extended.

    Love this signing.

Morey, you are nothing but an asset.

Let see if we can flip you for LeBron or KD.

Morey will not fire McHale. Here is how I analyze Morey's future.

Morey has four years to make us a chip contender. If by the end of his tenure, we become a second tier team (Memphis, Knicks, Nugs) or worse, I believe Les will let him go. Moreyball experiment will be over. He has no excuses whatsoever now that Rockets have a bonafide superstar and cap room to add another.

Here is coaching situation. I truly believe McHale was Les hire. Morey presented all the candidates for Les to choose from. In the end, Les was untterly impressed by McHale's witt and charisma (and by Sampson initially) and eventually became our coach. It was really a genius move to let Les hire the coach when the team was not ready to contend.

Morey is really blameless if McHale becomes McFail. For as long as McHale is here, it will only give Morey one more year (possibly two if Rockets picks up team option 2014-2015) to assemble his players. By then, he will have his team ready for a coach of his choice.

I will make an educated guess his coach of choice would be either JVG or Finch.

If no unsatisfying players rock Mchale's boat, he will be here until his end of contract. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if Rockets pick up the team option year. McHale is here to stay, whether you like it or not!

Frankly, that's what I am scared of. There is a reason an owner liking a GM who consistently gets the ninth seed and misses the playoff. Morey can make seriously money.

The Rockets reminds me of Arsenals of the Premium League in UK. Both teams are good at unearthing gem at low cost and selling them at a high price. They give you hope/hype but when the season ends, your team is exactly where it was last season.

I though we were going to fire Murray. Very bad decision. Could have signed his younger brother Zaryl Morey for much cheaper.

Ok listening to them those guys are clueless, don't even realize the backloaded contract is distributed equally over each year from a cap perspective. We aren't taking any additional cap hit in the third year.

Thanks. Wish one of them would have known that the backloaded contract will be distributed evenly for salary cap purposes. They kept bringing up how that could hurt us long-term.

Yeah. True, the MONEY is back-loaded, but that's actually BETTER than the cap hit, since the present value of the contracts is less than a straight-up 3-year, $25.1 million deal. The Rockets aren't morons and understand that Lin's and Asik's SALARIES will be high in 2014-15. They're realizing all the savings this year and next and will make provision to pay those guys later.
