I'm kinda torn b/c obviously I want us to make the playoffs, but if we don't I think McHale is gone (which is also what I want)
I don't think a press is so advisable because the offense has an advantage when they break a press. But, that the opposing PGs are alleged scrubs makes no sense. They have the only basketball on the court at that time. If anything, that's an argument to do a press. A scrub should be more likely to turn the ball over, lose more time on the shotclock crossing half-court, and less likely to take advantage of having the defense out of position. Maybe if Chris Paul is bringing it up, you don't press because you figure he'll beat you at your game. But, if you think your opponent is a scrub, you should go and take the ball from him.
so full court pressure on play makers, not scrubs? lol way to screw up an good argument. no, we shouldn't do full court pressure on Mavs, and you sir, andersongo, talk more than you think.
Is just not real good, it seems that every back to back he shortens his bench on the 2nd night instead of extending it, like Popovich does, and the result, after the loss tonight? 5-13 on the 2nd night - running them into the ground is not going to help. DD
He stuck with the same line-up for the last 9 minutes of the fourth quarter tonight. WHO DOES THAT?! Of course our offense looked like garbage at the end of the 4th because our guys are dead tired. We get killed on the boards and he makes no adjustments. I'd accept his stubbornness if he ever even once looked like he knew what he was doing.
He's obsessed with the small ball lineup in the fourth and it seems like it never works in close games. No excuse for DMo and Robinson only getting 25 minutes in the second of a back to back
They stick with the small ball crap all game long. Back when we didn't have big men, it is was understandable, there is no excuse sticking with the small ball stuff when we are loaded with young bigs that could use minutes. Despite him being renown for his post game, McHale and staff are in love with this jump shooting style of play that has been shown multiple times to fail in the playoffs or finals or whenever put against legit blocking talent. Also McHale must realize that while Garcia gives effort and is a vet he is a bad defender and only brings another jump shooter to the lineup that just leads to more turn overs.
McHale hopes us to turn into Mike D'Antoni's suns team featuring Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire, Quentin Richardson, Joe Johnson, and whoever else's job was to primarily jack up a 3 within 8 seconds on the shot clock.
I wanted to bump this post, because I only imagine what JVG or RA could have done with a roster like this.
