It's doubtful slavers used negro/african-american/chocolate when addressing brothas back then. I was disappointed in the film, primarily about the editing, soundtrack & some of the set designs. it's also used a lot in popular music. I'm not Tarantino's biggest fan, but a lot of blacks in entertainment have called out Spike on this.

To be completely honest, the term Mental r****dation is used a lot in the medical profession. When you go through a patients history, you have to say stuff like "he is mental r****ded, has severe spasms etc...."
