I think you are way off on your projections. I see it looking more like this: Rockets 46-36 Warriors 46-36 Lakers 44-38 Utah 44-38
I think the Fakers have a ridiculously easy remaining schedule If they beat all the crappy teams they are supposed to, then we get hosed. L Tue, Mar 5 Oklahoma City Thunder @ Oklahoma City W Wed, Mar 6 New Orleans Hornets @ New Orleans W Fri, Mar 8 Toronto Raptors vs Toronto W Sun, Mar 10 Chicago Bulls vs Chicago W Tue, Mar 12 Orlando Magic @ Orlando W Wed, Mar 13 Atlanta Hawks @ Atlanta L Fri, Mar 15 Indiana Pacers @ Indiana W Sun, Mar 17 Sacramento Kings vs Sacramento W Mon, Mar 18 Phoenix Suns @ Phoenix W Fri, Mar 22 Washington Wizards vs Washington W Mon, Mar 25 Golden State Warriors @ Golden State W Wed, Mar 27 Minnesota Timberwolves @ Minnesota W Thu, Mar 28 Milwaukee Bucks @ Milwaukee W Sat, Mar 30 Sacramento Kings @ Sacramento W Tue, Apr 2 Dallas Mavericks vs Dallas L Fri, Apr 5 Memphis Grizzlies vs Memphis L Sun, Apr 7 Los Angeles Clippers @ LA Clippers W Tue, Apr 9 New Orleans Hornets vs New Orleans W Wed, Apr 10 Portland Trail Blazers @ Portland L Fri, Apr 12 Golden State Warriors vs Golden State W Sun, Apr 14 San Antonio Spurs vs San Antonio W Wed, Apr 17 Houston Rockets vs Houston
The Lakers have been incredibly inconsistent (thus their current record of 30-31), their stars can't seem to stay 100% healthy and that's especially crucial for their final playoff push. Their last game against OKC both Bryant and Howard showed signs of injury / playing through pain. I don't think they'll be able to keep up their recent good form which led them going back to .500 briefly.
Fakers are old, injured, and can't play defense. Their bench is nonexistent. I'd be surprised if they can get over 40 wins.
Contrary to what you believe, Rockets have the easiest schedule out of four teams. You just lost all your credibility! http://www.playoffstatus.com/nba/westernsosrg.html
Not sure if you've seen the Lakers play this year? Winning games they're expected to win is definitely NOT what they're on about. And I don't think the Rockets have gone 9-12 over any stretch this season, let alone one of their easiest ones. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds Rockets finish at 48 wins.
GS playing next 5 games at home? and you gave them 2-3 record against those teams? We are all homers, but lets be realists too. Their toughest two games are against us and the Knicks. They almost beat Knicks at msg so it should be 50-50 there, its more like projected 4-1 for them. Looking at their schedule, of the 21 games thats left, they have 15 home games Lakers and especially Jazz on the other hand could go 1-4, although 2-3 is a conservative number. All said and done after the 5 games and probably by the end of the season, barring any meltdown, my prediction is we will end up behind GS as the 7th seed with Jazz and Lakers fighting out in the distance for the final spot. What if we end up playing against the Knicks All the story line and the media attention will be too much of a distraction/pressure for Lin and the team.
One question, how in the world is San Antonio soooo darn good. I know Parker is doing his thing and Duncan for his age is playing out of his mind but Thunder is just better. Anyway, I really hope Thunder overtakes SA especially after Parker's injury, so we can face SA instead. It will be very interesting to see how these two teams jockey for position after Lakers (big if) secures the 8th seed. Don't think either of them would want to face Kobe no matter how bad the Lakers are playing.
starting today the Lakers are going to win 13 out of 14 games haha sure. Nash is getting burned more then ever on D Howard's shoulder seems to be killing him and Kobe keeping up his energy enough to pick up the slack of those 2 with gasol out to have that kind of streak... Hell I think they lose tonight probably. Haha wow
Just like the Sac, Washington and Milwaukee games were suppose to be easy. You can't read too much into the charts that rank the remaining schedules. For example, the @Phoenix game will be tougher than people think, since we're playing away the night before @GS. Everyone is thinking the Lakers are playing horribly but they lost to OKC in OKC, who only committed two turnovers.
They have lost 10 of the last 14 games. Thats why I put them at 2-3 & I doubt they can beat Knicks, Rockets, or Bucks.
