with asik and demo improving their game this offseason, you can pencil in 2 more assists automatically.
and what's another 3 fgs to attempt.

15.7 pts and 8.5 assists &2.1 steals/ borderline all star numbers...at least when lowry was here.

I'm telling you...the man will be an all star every year. And not because of votes from China.
He's good. Linsanity was no accident.

I hate it when people try to prove their point by distorting the number. The reason why there are only 2 people in the league that has those numbers is because Lin is one of the league leaders in steals. If you you take the steals component out, then his numbers don't look as special.

The stats indeed tell the story. This is why trade Lin threads are pretty non-sensical at this point. He's improved a great deal from the start of the season, and most so in the most deficient part of is game; his 3pt shooting. If he keeps improving he might actually be worth his contract next year.

And if McHail let's him stay hot a bit longer before subbing, that could mean another FG and Assist.....reasonable to say 18 pts and 9 assists? Now that's AllStars number.

But being one of the league leaders in steals should count for something!

And the list you provided isn't so bad itself everyone in the top ten(with the exception of nate robinson, king of garbage time) is a very very good player.

The players ahead of lin are 4 allstars, curry (allstar snub), jennings, the king of garbage time, and dragon. I think that's pretty good company

yeah, taking away the one thing that he has truly excelled at, then providing more evidence of Lin doing well is surely supportive of your point.

In the West where CP3, TP, WB, Kobe, Harden, Curry reside? He has a long way to go to be deserving. Maybe if he played in the East.

Its great that Lin has improved his weaknesses, the spot up jump shot and 3 pointer. Tough having a long career in this league driving and getting hammered in the paint, save that paint Linsanity stuff for the big games and the playoffs and championship runs works for me.

CP3's a/t is basically the gold standard which would not be possible to reach even for CP3 on this fast pace team. For the whole season Lin has had about 2.1 which is poor but he is getting there. Keep in mind that the faster the pace the greater likelihood for turnovers.

Hmm I distorted the truth by including steals? You really don't think 2.1 STL PER36 is significant? That's certainly your opinion, but A) steals is an apparently important enough to be recorded by the NBA B) Lin is tied for 6th in the league for STL PER36 C) and even removing steals (one of his strengths) further proves my point which is that Lin is in top company. So I don't know if you realize this, but based on the data you presented, you're not helping your argument, rather your helping mine.

Also, perhaps we have this in common. I don't take other people's stats at face value. So I ran my own query on b-ref.

Let's remove steals AND LOWER THE PER36 REQUIREMENTS:

Here are the NINE NBA players averaging the following PER36 sorted by Win Share:

    14 PTS
    6.5 AST
    3 REBS
    .430% FG

    LeBron James
    Chris Paul
    Tony Parker
    Russell Westbrook
    Jose Calderon
    Goran Dragic
    Jarrett Jack
    Jeremy Lin
    Jrue Holiday

I dunno why your data is different from mine - most likely we didn't run the same query. But here's a link to mine, in case, you know, you think I'm just making stats up.

Great thread, too bad no one's going to read it. Rational fans know that he's improved each month.
