Honeycut would be cheaper than Garcia, and they are both about the same size/skill level.

Good to see AB back. Always loved the way he shoots 3's 3 feet behind the arc like nothing.

I'm thinking the same thing. This is a great backup for not only the Point, but for Harden as well. Even a few more less minutes for Harden may help us going into the playoffs. Brooks can score we know that.

He'll get the minutes if he shows anything that he's capable of in practice. The big thing will be for him not to turn the ball over. If he understands that everything with him & McHale will run smooth, and he will get to play. He fits the spot up 3 point shooter much better than Lin, and will help spread the floor better than Lin because Lin gets sagged off most nights.

I hope AB is has some of that lighting speed he use to have! What a lethal combination AB (if healthy...keyword IF) and Harden. Just wish I could see the games ;)

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but:

There is a chance that another team could pick Honeycutt off waivers. His salary and guarantee are both small enough that someone like CLE or PHX may want to claim him off waivers and take a look at him for the remainder of the season.

If so, than HOU would be totally off the hook for his contract.

That would be nice. I am sure we will find out in 48 hrs when he officially clears waviers or he can he still be picked up by the Vipers?

BTW - - I have never seen a Tyler Honeycut. I read about him on one of the draft sites, but that was all. Has anyone seen him in the NBA?

I think it's against the rules to change numbers during the season right? New rule a couple years back.

What are the chances that Morey wanted Brooks in the Thomas Robinson trade, but took on Garcia and Honeycutt to make the trade work for financial reasons, with the contingency that Sacramento released Brooks so that we could pick him up?

I assume if 11 were available, D-Mo would be wearing that number.

Morey was looking to offer a frontloaded contract to an international player.
