yeah its pretty much the same thing i ran into when i tried to have an intelligent conversation with anti-war protesters. it just usually devolves (sp?) into name calling and the US is terrible.

funny, but try interviewing any people about anything. It's always pretty sad, no matter what their political beliefs are. And I'm sure this footage was edited to keep only the most coherent and intelligent replies. Oh yeah.

I like the person who is doing the voice over. It sounds so sarcastic, and funny.

Those girls were idiots. They just don't like Bush because he is a Republican or something. Or he was the Governor of Texas.

You mean the part where the anti-war protesters are explaining nuclear physics and a detailed history of military conflict throught the centuries? Yeah...that part probably doesn't exist.

So I guess veterans who are against this war no absolutely nothing about armed combat:rolleyes:

Your right though Ref, I'm sure that since these millions of people disagree with you, it's quite obvious that they are all idiots, none of them are sincere, none of them are intelligent, they are all traitors, smoking pot, etc. . .(I would put some rolleyes here, but I think you get the point)

Scratch that, since you don't agree with me, I'm just gonna think I'm way smarter than you and assume you don't get it:rolleyes: <------- Take that!!!

Although the video was just for entertainment purposes, well to me it was, I'd like to ask you, Oski, the same questions presented in the video, just to get away from the personal insults from both sides.

Your intentions would seem more sincere to me if you had given your answers to his questions.

Since, I don't feel like watching that again, I'll just answer the questions I remember.

First he said something about how would you solve the problem.

I'd tell him that I don't think Iraq is a problem right now, we should be focusing on Bin Laden and North Korea.

    How do we disarm Iraq?

Let the Inspectors do their job for the rest of this year at least. Saddam's dragging his feet, but it's better that he takes his sweet ass time and disarms than for us to drop bombs, kill innocent people, piss off the rest of the middle east, and make even more terrorist.

    Bush's ulterior motive's

I don't think he has any. Oil, what do you think is gonna happen? We are just gonna let the Iraqi's decide on their own what to do with it. There will be american companies in there and the oil will be heading our way. It's an extra incentive, a spoil of war, not part of a hidden agenda.

I believe near the end he asks something like drawing a moral equivalent to Bush and Saddam.

I don't compare them. Saddam is a horrible person and he shouldn't be in power, but we shouldn't go in there until we have the FULL support of the UN. Also, like I have said plenty of times before, if we are gonna go in there and remove a repressive regime, I want us to do the same thing in other countries, not just the one's that have useful resources.

I don't have that big a problem with this guy, but I'm tired of people using the craziest protesters they can find to define all the protesters' position. Somebody like Shawn Hannity would see this and start another one of his "you know what's wrong with you people on the left" rants. It's like trying to get the Right's view on affirmitive action by asking the KKK. I guess this guy just went Jaywalking, but his site doesn't look like it's about pure entertainment. How often does Jay Leno post political articles on the Tonight Show website?

That clip was very funny, and it does prove a point. This war is a partisan issue. Generally speaking, those who don't like Bush are against the war, and those who like Bush are for the war.

I'm sure there are just as many people who would have problems expressing their reasons why the war is necessary - they just feel that it is or trust their leaders that it is. Does the fact that both groups contain stupid, unlearned, or some people who can't express an original opinion to save their lives invalidate their opinions? Not in a democracy.

Let's just be thankful that we can discuss things in a little more educated manner here on the BBS.

Nice, GS. Often times, this is true.

But Oski, you dumb protestor, Refman mentioned nuclear physics! Don't avoid the topic at hand. :p
