Carlos led a prayer after yesterday's practice for Shandon. "In order to bring strength to him, we tried to come amongst each other and just pray within ourselves and hopefully the outcome will be what we anticipate it would be. We're a family and we care for each other." Let's also take a second to think within oursleves about why moms are first and our other loves of life are second. By going through those memories, you will be closer to knowing what Shandon is feelings right now, and maybe... somehow bring strength to him, as Carlos believes. Think about your moms influence over the years: your toddler years, school, college, work, parent years, and how your mom is different than anyone else you know through that whole time. Here's what I think of...I always remember her patting me on the back. While hugging me or holding me, my mom always patted me on the back when I was a toddler, and I learned quickly to reciprocate it. As long as I can remember, she always patted me, and I always patted her when hugging. I don't really even know I'm doing it, but I don't do it with anyone else. In her old age, now I think she is really comforted by it. Maybe it was her way to say, "I comfort you early in life. You comfort me, later." Peace Shandon...Comfort your moms!!
