Congratulations man you're going to love UT. If you need any advice or tips PM me through the board. I graduated in May 2007 with a B.S. in Advertising and a B.A. in Government. Best advice is not to mess around your first year. My grades were total **** my first and second semester.
Shouldn't you "not mess around" ANY year?!?!? Sounds like when people say "we have to win this game"... uhhhh, Einstein, we have to win EVERY game.
Keep your head up bro. I know many that went to HCC/Lonestar that got great GPA's (3.7 or higher) and transfered into UT/A&M. Of course there are others that ****ed around and still don't know what they will do with their life. Just look at it as your second opportunity.
Congrats man! I know many longhorns that were able to overcome their lack of education and make something out of their lives. I have faith you can as well.
He's giving you great advice. It's like the freshman year at UT is designed to "weed out the detritus," if you know what I mean. After your first year you can open the party gates without worrying so much about flunking out (like my nephew did!). Congratulations!
yep. First semester I got 4 D's and a B. Almost cost me a chance at graduating. Never went to class and got wasted on a daily basis. Had to snap out of it just to finish up on time.
Congratulations!! I am going to UT, also: I'm majoring in Plan II and Business. Maybe I will see you there... Or maybe not.
congrats, welcome to THE University of Texas : ) My advice, DON'T LIVE IN JESTER!!! TBH, you will meet a lot of great people who you'll be friends with for years on, but that place smells like ****. Also, if you ride your bike, STOP AT THE STOP SIGNS...
my friend lived at San Jac his freshman year and said it was nice just far away from stuff, but honestly you should live in West campus if you can. They're building a new place near where I live called calloway house that looks like it'd be cool if you were a freshman. Always towers too if you're planning on rushing...but that crowd might not be for you. Don't do Castillian
don't let the jester haters get to you. go to the dorms in the first year, after that you'll figure it out.
yeah, either kids now are getting massive loans or the parents are really rich. west campus is for kids with beemers.
