...predicts Rockets to go 37-45 and miss playoffs. http://espn.go.com/nba/preview2000/hou.html ------------------ In order to be a success in life, you need 2 things: 1. Don't tell everything you know.
Point blank, Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich and personnel chief Carroll Dawson are among the best in the league at their jobs. r-e-s-p-e-c-t
I think the Rockets will win 45gms this year. If we get Webber next year I think we can win atleast 10 more gms. But thats wishful thinking for now.
Laughable. They've got the Mavs and TWolves both at 43 wins, 6 ahead of the Rox. For all the praise the article heaps on Francis, Mobley, and Dawson, the predictions calls for us to fall closer to the Warriors than to the 8th seed. I am disappointed in this report. Does our team get this little respect nationally? ------------------
I just see all the disrespect as a plus!Im just saying I hope the teams come in expecting the same because we will surprise them, you can bet on that.I see a lot of close games this year and if we can finish these games I think we could surprise even ourselves on how many wins we can get.Getting in the playoffs are going to be hard but I still think we can do. ------------------

Now its on to proving them wrong. ------------------ please venture to atheistalliance and rocketsonline I AM SPARTACUS Bush and Gore make me want to Ralph votenader.com
cmon guys. would it be as sweet if we were ranked #1 and then came in at #1? no man, its ten times better coming in as the underdog and then PUNKING all the naysayers. we are going to shock the world, baby. ------------------ "Man, it's cool. HELL YEA!! ------------------ Ugh, Another Rockets off-season....I'm gonna need a keg of Pepto-Bismol.
I hate the bulls as much as the next man, but does anybody else here seriously think that they will finish last in the East this year? They've GOT to have a good chance at beating the Wizards, the Hawks, the Cavs and the Pistons don't they? ESPN has no idea! ------------------
Come onnn! 37 wins? A year of extra experience, a top 3 point guard, a promising young PF, and a top 50 center of all time, and they expect the Rockets to get just three more wins than last year. That is utter lunacy. ------------------ 2000-2001 Rockets Game Formulas: End of 1st quarter: "They're playing so well!" 2nd: "What a great game!" 3rd: "Theres no way they can lose now!" 4th: "What the ******* **** happened?!!" Vote Gore to keep our planet green!
Wasn't this when we still had a healthy Hakeem coming off a 18/10 season, a productive Barkley, and a new young star in steve Francis? I'm sure no one could have predicted that we would lose two of the 50 greatest players in NBA history. As far as this year's preview, there's not much that I can see wrong with it. I have high hopes for the season, but I can't blame people for thinking the way they do about the Rockets. 37 wins sound horrible, but in truth we could end up in the same place in terms of position. As far as wins go, we might be able to get a few more. ------------------ Nederland 2002 Qualifying Campaign (Damn those penalties!!!) ..ok this has got me confused. how come during the summer, when espn did the individual team previews, and quite notably before we signed MO Taylor..espn had us as a playoff team? and now we are 10th best in the conference as the season comes close, i mean what is with that? ------------------ "Man, it's cool. I'm going to be president. That's Wicked." -George W. Bush, SNL
Well, I think that there were quite a few questions surrounding Hakeem's health going into last season, and we were just 7-12 (IIRC) when Barkley went down. Not that I think ESPN's prediction is entirely out of line, considering that this is basically the same team that went 34-48 last year, with a few additions. I just meant it to illustrate that predictions at this point are essentially worthless. (That means you, Collier critics)
