http://www.warriorsworld.net/2013/03/02/enough-with-the-david-lee-slander-already/ The author goes on to claim that Lee being white means people are less afraid to openly mock and laugh at him. That's a bit of a stretch.
Barkley wasn't white, he was mocked and laughed at for his matador defense just the same. Didn't need advanced analytics and fart noise sound effects to do it either.

Wow first all star for GSW since 15 years? Baron Davis didn't make the team when he was there? He was a beast back then same goes for J-Rich. Surprising.
Over dramatic much? I think the author is projecting his low self esteem all over this. Sunds like a Jeremy Lin fan.
Low self-esteem people are fools like you who have to take a side jab at a group of people every time you have a chance even over something that is not even remotely related.
I'm not going to defend (ahem) Lee's defense, but come on. Could you not make a video of three plays of just about anyone in the NBA looking stupid on defense? Not a valid critique. Now, if you want to look at the FG% against his interior defense, well, that's pretty funny.
I have a feeling after hearing about this, Lee is going to pick up his D, one night only, against the Rockets on friday lol.
Well, you're not going to put 100 plays when you have a presentation on a time. And those are from the same game. You generally don't facepalm 3 times like that in a single game. Assuming those are representative of his defense in general, I don't see why not. What's REALLY important is just how much these sets of data matter. For example, if you read his Sloan presentation, Larry Sanders #1... Andrea Bargnani #2 in opposing FG% in proximity. Perkins, Brand, and Hibbeter round out the top 5, so I'm not totally dismissing it. But it does show the limitations of his current data. Like how Marc Gasol doesn't rank that high despite Memphis' top defense. From a Rockets standpoint, you have to wonder why his findings has Asik scoring fairly low, like generally ranks 30+ among bigs in his various sets of data. Yet it's apparent that Morey thinks Asik is all-world defender. So one wonders what factors into such discrepancy. Obviously, watching the games it's obvious the Rockets have porous defense all around Asik, and that he generally has to pull double-duty on defending the rim and rebound at the same time with no help. And these are certainly things that can't be isolated.
