We were all making fun of Kemp after the game last week, but I wonder if someone would say the same things about Barkley if they had not seen him much between 1994 and 1998 and then saw him playing in Rockets' pinstripes. Maybe Kemp can still be effective at his size. Portland sort of reminds me a little of what Houston would have looked like had they signed McDyess instead of Pippen: a bunch of aging stars (not quite as many) surrounding one primetime athletic PF.

....with like a 41% FG% as a PF. I can see why since he can barely jump, like when Hakeem blocked consecutive shots of his....

I would like to point out the agile and graceful Thomas Hamilton as a great physical specimen.

ACtually who remembers that last second block Hakeem had on Kemp in the playoffs ? That right there showed me what a player Dream was. Kemp was in his prime, and Dream stopped him one on one.

I guess Manute Bol doesn't belong in this thread right? [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Now Barkley may have been big but he still could jump like he was 200 pounds! Charles was a phenomonal leaper for his size and didn't really need to be in better shape then what he was. I actually think with-out his size he would have done nothing in the NBA because I doubt he would be much of a shooting gaurd or good enough to defend a small forward (not saying he was great at defending 4 men). Charles needed his size to be able to work in the post and to grab those boards. When Kemp was in his early years and was athletic IMO was one of the Elite PF's because he was so versitile and could play really good defense at times because of his size. Now he's gotten fatter he is slow, can't jump so he's getting blocked heaps. I sometimes say to myself "can he dunk anymore?" cause he can't jump! [IMG] But I thought he was arguably the only one that could match up with Charles in their primes (92,93,94)! But I say Charles had it in his favour most of the time!
