What a horrible interview full of softball questions. Rather basically gave a maniac a free hour to lie to the American public. Rather is not a serious newsman anymore.
Let's wait and see how soon someone from the anti-war group tries and use this interview to support his opinion.
LMAO. The only question he left out was about Saddam's treatment of his citizens, ie torture. I guess if John Gibson had gone, it would be a diffirent story. "Now Saddam, what do you have to say to all those whiny liberals who are against us kicking you ass?" "Why do you murder and torture your own people? It's because you're a liberal, isn't it?"
.... (LMAO! Was that one of the biggest promos in TV history the other night or what? "Tune in the day after tomorrow for the interview you thought was on tonight!!!" Poor Dan... how the mighty have fallen. )
j/k Anyway, did anyone happen to catch what Rather said about them taking him to the location? They picked him up and seemingly made a number of meaningless turns, and dropped him off at another house then continued to drive "east & west" before taking him to another location where he was taken to the very palace that he (Dan) had reported from in front of a couple of weeks back?
Would some liberal poster please try and post a defense of that deplorable interview last night? Someone...hello...?? Sam Houston is probably rolling his dusty ass in his grave right now.
I thought it was a decent interview. I don't think Dan Rather had the opportunity to shine like he usually does. Keep in mind, he was sitting five feet away from the The Antichrist. As far as Sadam is concerned, he sounded a little like Don King when trying to promote the debate against GWB and himself. I was waiting for him to say something like, "This is gonna be a funtabolous debate. The Butcher of Baghdad meets the Champion of the Capital, this Sunday live on PPV." What the heck was up with Dan Rather trying to get Sadam to say something in English. It reminded me of being around my 2 year old niece going, "Come on now, say beer. Say I like beer."
Rather had his hands tied (not literally). He had to balance getting the interview for CBS vs. asking hard questions. Getting the interview for CBS was more important to him. If Saddam walked, Rather would have no interview, and CBS would not get the ratings they did last night.
Fox should get Sadam to do another Joe Millionare. He's a tyranical maniac,....but what these girls don't know, is that he doesn't have a million dollars. Sadam - "After killing her family and watching, I realized Zora was the one because she was afraid of me the most." Zora - "Help me!"
