I don't know what that means. Look, if your angle here is that you're a Rockets fan only because it happens to be the team Lin plays on right now, then you're going to filter everything through that perspective. And people who've been rooting for this franchise come hell or high water for decades are going to find it strange and may resent it when that perspective gets shared.
I agree that this has become a pattern. This is not the first time that McHale would bench Lin for more minutes than normal or necessary. 3 to 5 minutes in the same quarter is normal to rest a player. More than 6 minutes plus the break between quarters is abnormal. Benching a player when he is hot is both abnormal and unnecessary (except it's less than 2 or 3 minutes) and is likely going to impact the game negatively.
It's going off topic already...I believe my original post was something about a poster calling us LOF's a filth that clog the GARM...I'll multi-quote the exchanges if I can later...and then about Harden and then the criticism against the coaches and so on... when we offer criticism it's not only because it was unprecedented..there are reasons why those were uttered..not only because it directly affects Lin but it also affects the team...people are lead to believe that Lin fans only cares about Lin...for me, I care about the players too..I care about Morris and Ppat and Toney..even Aldrich...I cared about T-Rob and still excited about what he can offer to the team ( granted he sucks right now but let him learn the tendencies of the team first before criticizing him ).I cared about Mchale and I pity him because more or less his job is on the line right now...
Fair comments. Right on when you say "But it's been 59 games, Lin's minutes are still the most inconsistent, and so is his sub pattern. It's difficult for him."
I agree, the defence is horrible, especially since Ppat left the team. I think Asik, Lin and Beverley play good defence but the rest don't. The coach needs to take our players accountable on defence, especially Harden, Parsons, and Dmo and we need more post up plays from the front court.
Who cares who plays when we win?!?!!?!? Everybody needs to shut the f up about Mchale setting up Lin to fail. That's the dumbest thing I've ever read
Our schedule gets a lot harder down the road. If we play like we did last night, we get the 14th pick again...
What about Lin's three of four free throws? They were among the 1-4, weren't they? Lin made a total of 11 points in the game, so he's made at least another 5 points in addition to the two 3's.
I agree when Beverley was hot in the 4th, he should keep playing, the goal is to win the game. At the same time, When Lin was hot in the first half, the coach shouldnt bench him either at the 8 min every game in the first quarter. We always ended up losing the momentum, such as in the Bucks game.
