Geez, a couple of losses and people forget that this is a rebuilding season. People thinking contending for a championship when days before the season started we acquired Harden. Give the FO and Coaching staff a freakin break. 2012 clutchfans are the worst. Every time I read one of these crappy ass threads and look at the join date it never fails that its a 2012er/ NL Rocket.
The Lakers, the Mavericks, even Timberwolves who looked poised to make the jump into playoff team with Kevin Love and Rubio, faltered enough that the Rockets managed to gain a playoff spot. The only usual suspect to exceed where they were expected besides Houston has been Golden State. And as I mentioned, this staff may not even have time to work with a roster built around Harden and McHale never coaches for the future anyway, he is likely to burn Harden and Parsons out playing 40-45 minutes a game before Morey can put a more 'Harden-centric' roster together then what we currently have. The team is playing better then expected, they need to strike while the iron is hot because with the type of moves Morey makes, they may not get the chance to do so later.
I'd really like too see the Rockets 5 next year PG Harden SG Iguodala SF Parsons PF Garnett C Asik Beverley, Anderson, TJones, Donuts, Smith in the rotation
you want one of the best SGs to play PG? makes no sense. name one SG that five years into their career became a great PG? doesn't happen.
What does Lin have to do with winning a championship? Chris Paul starting in his place would make them more of a contender. I love Lin, but one of these comments are not like the others. Also, small ball works. Give it a chance.
Its hard to judge this team this year. Our small guys are much better than our bigs so we have to play small ball. Half court offenses almost require there to be a guy who can play with his back to the basket. We dont have that. Adding a star big man will change a lot on this team. Our guys are all lacking one key thing right now and thats experience. There are games that we just need to learn how to win. Washington, Bucks, Magic games are all examples. You have to know how to close out. Our team is full of guys doing things that they have never done in their pro lives. They never have gotten this many minutes and have never had, except Harden and Lin for like 2 weeks, the responsibility to win the game at the end. They are obviously not contenders, but the team def. needs experience. That is why making the playoffs would be very beneficial. None of our guys except Harden and Delfino have played in the playoffs. This season is our teams blooding. We see every game Asik gets a little better at the pick n roll. We see Lin and Parsons picking their spots better and we see DMo get better each game. Now if they could all just focus and intensify their D, we should make the playoffs.
i lol'ed at scapegoat... but then realized, seems like true. harden is the always right guy who brings win, lin is a nothing can do right.
Lin is only polarizing for us moron fans yattering on about basketball like we know anything on the internet. That doesn't have anything to do with playoff contending. All we need to become a contender is to sign another top level talent, and a year or two of development time for our huge stable of prospects and good, young role players. Also, I got a laugh at the tirade against small ball. None of this year's contenders are "big" teams.
