They can't cut Royce, he's a 1st round draft pick with guaranteed contract. Sacramento guys Garcia and Honeycutt are also valuable for expiring contract purposes .... sadly they will probably cut our new hero and saviour Ohlbrecht.
I knew Morey still loved AB! I still think Ginobli ruined Brooks' career for the past few years. Hopefully he can rejoin the Rockets and turn it on again.
Then you're not one of the posters I was referring to. They don't like this move, but don't know why. Seriously, 28 is too old?
And that's the only reason we really need to do this. If Lin or Beverley go down then we would be in trouble. Although I do think Brooks is better offensive player than Beverley.
You know what, **** it. Brooks is still a baller. Houston knows exactly how to use him. Even though the coach is different the offensive gameplan is exactly the same as the 2010 year. Run, run, and then run some more. All while Brooks can hoist up spot up or transition threes. I know he's going to do work upon his return. Houston is literally the perfect fit for his game. And his game fits perfectly for us.
Remember that one guy who said he saw AB in PHO and told him "Houston misses you AB!" and AB told him "I don't miss Houston." Apparently he misses it a lil bit. http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=202627
To be quite honest, AB is just the kind of guy we need next to Harden. I'm the biggest JLin fan out there, but AB has the exact type of skills needed to flourish next to Harden and Parsons: he's a stone cold shooter who isn't afraid of driving inside. While he was here he also got assisted on like 30% of his shots, so he's the perfect target to a driving and dishing Harden. His defense was crap but we don't play defense anyway, might as well add even more O lol. My prediction is AB signs to a 5 year vet min (3M a year) and then blows up and plays like a near all star.
Yeah definitely, brooks when he was hot was able to put down 20. He average 19 points the year he won MIP, didn't he? Yeah brooks might be better offensively, but how is their defense? Its been a while since I saw brooks play
I just read (on real GM) that Brooks shoots 53% on spot-up threes for the season? Also said Brooks is the 2nd best spot up shooter in the NBA, per synergy??
Beverly played well tonight. Looking at game logs, AB has done well this season in games that he has played in over 20 minutes. Offer him the min. Take it or leave it.
can't live with the other half of his game. dribble into the trees or paint and either can't convert or waste the possession.
Got to use the cap room remaining this year on something, won't carry over. We could add to the bench with a few more vets but all the roster spots remaining or either rooks on minimum contracts or bargain chip expirings (Delfino and Garcia). So probably no more cuts aside from Brooks.
