first Shaq, now MJ http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2003/0226/1514798.html Jordan sits out practice to nurse injured thigh ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Associated Press WASHINGTON -- Michael Jordan sat out practice with a stiff right thigh and could miss Thursday's game between the Washington Wizards and the Houston Rockets. Jordan was kneed in the leg after colliding with Reggie Miller in the fourth quarter of Tuesday night's 83-78 victory at Indiana. The injury is just above the knee that required surgery last season. "He's going to come in here and have treatment today and tomorrow," coach Doug Collins said Wednesday. "Hopefully, he'll loosen up and be able to play, but he was very stiff today." Jordan was not available for comment. Collins also said the Wizards will activate center Jahidi White for the first time this season. White replaces Etan Thomas, who has a bruised left eye socket after taking an elbow in the face against the New Jersey Nets last week. Collins said Thomas has double vision and could miss the rest of the season if surgery is needed. White has spent the season recovering from knee surgery. --
Stackhouse's going to get 50+ pts and wizards kills us in tripple OT with Ming being fouled out at the end of 2nd OT. No!!! Rox is not built to take on teams without their super star playing.
Wait, why are we blaming TNT? Did I miss something? Yao's going to destroy White. Slow, big centers aren't what Yao's afraid of.
TNT was also hyping about Shaq and Yao part II, ending up with Shaq's no show. I guess he is blaming that TNT is responsible for MJ's possible no show because they pick up the game. Did I make any sense?
I really really hope we put it away early, despite being away. The Wizards, with MJ, are the equivalent of the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA. Just think about it. They're 3 games under .500, in the East. Now, remove MJ, as well as Larry Hughes (if I'm not mistaken) and you get what? Again, we're getting a break like we got with the Miami Heat. This time, I hope, we'll take advantage of it. We need to go inside a lot, because Lue has the quickness to bother Francis offensively and defensively. Hopefully, Griffin can get working against Kwame Brown and Chris Laettner, both non-powerful C's.
It's confirmed, Etan Thomas and Larry Hughes are out for tomorrow. MJ is questionable, and Jahidi White was activated, but MOST probably won't see many (if any) minutes. Washington Wizards General Manager Wes Unseld announced today that the team has activated center Jahidi White and has placed center Etan Thomas on the Injured List with a fractured left eye socket. White has missed the entire 2002-03 season after he had surgery to repair his left quad tendon on August 21, 2002. He averaged 5.4 points and 6.3 rebounds in 71 games with the Wizards last season. He was the Wizards second round pick (43rd overall) in the 1998 NBA Draft. Thomas suffered his injury on February 21 in the Wizards win against the New Jersey Nets. He was inadvertently elbowed by Nets forward Richard Jefferson. Thomas is averaging 4.0 points, 4.3 rebounds and 13.5 minutes in 38 games this season. He was acquired by the Wizards from the Dallas Mavericks on February 22, 2001.
darn...no edit function. good. that means no game winner by Jordan, or a facial by him for SportCenter.
I think the game is at 6:30, with Barkley's soap box on right before that. If Jordan dosnt play, I'm sure he'll here about it from Chuck.
Facial by Jordan? Haven't seen that one for a while. I just remembered how he badely missed a dunk in the ASG with nobody infront of the rim...
