It's already being discussed in the NBA Dish thread. Kings just bought him out. He almost averaged 20 PPG as a Rocket for a whole season, and he is only 28. I like Beverley but Brooks can potentially be much better for us this season. He can bring back depth to our bench and score when Harden is not on the court.
Actually for a backup it's not a bad idea. Dude can likely still shoot. He'd just have to buy in as being a role player...
sounds like a good pick up to me i think he was quite good at camping out in the corner and shooting 3s when Yao and Tmac were on the team
Exactly, Honeycutt has too much potential to let go. If Lin or Beverly roll their ankle and miss a few games we have Garcia to run the backup PG.
Doesn't he have a player option next year? Idk if it's worth it considering Beverley is probably better than him at this point.
Wouldn't we be better off trying to sign a backup C? Brooks, I'm sorry to say, isn't any better than Beverley.
Last time I checked, this team has enough offense but needs more defense. Not to mention AB hasn't been the same offensive player since his injury.
Ginobili stole his affable attitude, and his soul when he slipped his foot under his ankle that day. He is no good now.
Aaron Brooks had a full season and playoffs worth of Linsanity level numbers and is shooting at the same percentage this year as that season. He's a rocket hero. We should sign him
If the ability to park out on the 3-point line is the only requirement, and let's face it, it really is, then get one who can play some defense. 3-D. P. G. That's not Brooks.
If they want to have the worst defensive PG in the league they'd go a long way towards that goal by signing Brooks.
