I don't have a clue. I remember the "Catholic Controversy" when JFK ran for President. It was a really big deal that he was able to win office "despite" being Catholic.

The bizzare "limitations" the country places on people who might run baffle me. Has anyone run and been elected that was divorced? I can't recall. To tell you the truth, I can't for the life of me understand why someone would run given what they must go through to even get close to being elected. The press used to have some respect for the private life of a President. No longer.

There was a President who was single and married while in office. He was one of the Arthurs, Garfields, or Harrisons, I think. They all run together. However, I don't think we'd elect one today. That's why, outside of him running against Bush, I don't think Kerrey has a shot.
