Old rival Spurs, revenge match vs OKC or local rival Clippers?

I think OKC is the most difficult challenge due to their youth. But all are difficult.

As a pure unbiased basketball fan watching Kobe play is still a pleasure. Don't get me wrong, I hate the Lakers, but damn Kobe is amazing.

Watching them get crushed by the Clippers and CP3 would be a lot of fun. Not happening though.

personally to me, Duncan-Howard would be very interesting just from the basketball point of view, regardless of the storyline.

Other Spurs-Lakers head to head matchups are also pretty interesting on paper, though i imagine that in the end the Spurs would expose the Lakers' help D flaws better than any other team.

So many intriguing storylines in the Lakers-Clippers duel. Aside from Staples Center bragging rights, that series would feature 2 of the greatest floor generals of our generation (one in his prime, the other, just over the hill), a trio of Kobe stoppers in Matt Barnes, Grant Hill, & Caron Butler, LO's opportunity for revenge, Dwight versus DeAndre, a homeless man's Dwight, Griffin yamming all over Pau, and there will certainly be a a juicy rumor or three floating around about Pau's girl getting smashed by either a teammate or foe... followed by Pau's inevitable collapse.

i guess the storyline would be -- Yoda tries to beat the crap out of the young padawan who sided with the dark force. Pretty cool!

The Lakers would be a scary first round team. They might be like the 95 rockets or the 99 knicks. I would not be surprised if the knocked the spurs out in the 1st round.

I'd love to see them play the Spurs, come alive, and knock out San Antonio in 4 or 5, once again. It will be ok. This Lakers will be run off them court in the next round.

Make no mistake: I hate the Spurs more than any other team now that Malone and Stockton have retired.

Parker would feast on Nash, and Pop has a bag full of stoppers - Kawhi, Cap'n Jack, Green - to throw at Kobe. The Spurs are so disciplined & deep, and this may very well be Timmy D's last hurrah so they're going to be a tough out.

Howard would have to go bananas, and put up Shaq-like numbers to prevail. Diesel averaged 38 & 17 (sub-40% FT) in the '00 Finals. Seems ludicrous, but a really active, focused Dwight could do 28 & 15.

I want to see them get beat to a pulp by the Spurs or Thunder. I think the Spurs would be their toughest matchup honestly.

But again hopefully they don't.

I would like David Stern to say, "With the 14th pick, in the 2013 draft, the Lakers select..."
