I remember there was a thread saying how clutch they are. But they have lost a few close games lately. Regress to the means?
No, they been Stern'd 7 games in a row by da Zebras so da Lakers could move up to 9th seed, pretty damb obvious. Hard to win when da refs call 40 fouls on you an 12 on da other team.
If the game is close with a minute left, even with their terrible record, Blazers WILL comeback. Last night against the Lakers, they looked like they were out of the game until some late heroics from Matthews and Batum. If it weren't for a toe on the line which was initially called a 2 but was too close to see on tape (come on now! we know that would have been called a 3 in any other situation.) and the 40 foul calls from the refs the Blazers would have won that game too..
Refs stole that game away from Portland. The press and the world will find out about this soon enough. As a Blazer fan, this is frustrating as hell. You guys are next.
I've been saying for a while the Blazers would fall off a cliff and it's happening. They've lost 7 in-a-row and are dead in the water at 11th in the West. The string of hitting game-closing shots was just a lucky streak that couldn't last, sort of like the Chicago Bears takeaways the first part of the NFL season last year.
Hard to be clutch when this doesn't get called for a foul. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Zp8KYmtrz0E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Or when the on court call was a 3 from TWO refs but 1 of those refs overturned it. The refs were generous to the Lakers.
I personally liked the call where Artest fouled Batum has he was driving baseline and the ball goes out of bounds. Usually when they don't call the foul, they give the fouled team the ball. This time they went to the monitors and ruled it Fakers' ball. Just pathetic. I also liked it when Artest took 3 steps to get a layup and they called a shooting foul on top of it.
