I love it. So many people want to see Donatas or Robinson starting. The Rockets best line-up is the small ball line up with Delfino in it.
All of what u said is true. Delf can spread the floor...cool. We winning....cool. But eventually TRob needs PF minutes along with TJones. Small ball lineup calls for DMo to get minutes as back up C. Everything will work itself out. Glad Delf is doing good and the peeps saying we got rid of the stretch 4 have been proven extra wrong.
In the end, it's about versatility in matchups. Delfino is clearly not a full time PF. But against PFs who can't "punish" Delfino's size, he's great. Reggie Evans and Humphries can't shoot well enough to exploit this mismatch, while the disadvantage on the boards is mitigated by Asik's presence. Televoic is basically a taller Delfino, so that's a wash. So he was certainly a great choice against the Nets. But there are certainly other teams where he'd have trouble with. So we still need that stable, quality, PF. I'm hoping that's DMo. I think Robinson isn't going to contribute much this season.

Say what you want about Delfino, but he's a vet who's been there and done that. Dmo got caught up in the moment late in the game, he's not used to playing big time minutes yet. Delfino is a cold blooded player, he does not shy away in the 4th. He's hit many big shots for us this year. I'd rather roll with the vet during crunch time.
Despite his hands that tend to alternate between hot and cold sometimes, I think his ripened latin confidence on the court is positive to this young team. It might be the best line-up for winning, but eventually we need a real PF to get in there and prevent Parsons from becoming a broken man. Just as Clutch and Bima said on their podcast, Parsons along with Harden probably could use a reduction in minutes as we start to gain confidence and run into some of these bottom feeders, or else we'll be beat down even before the playoffs start.
