I watched four gams of Rox vs. Mavericks. Except the first game they use the same strategy to defeat the Rox. They use their f**king centers to decoy YAO far away from basket then their forward Nowitzki will eat our forward alive. Rox should not use YAO to defend theri f**king centers. It will totally waste his talent. We should use Cato or Griffin on their centers and put YAO on Nowitzki. That will make rox well matched to Mavericks.

Dirk is too quick for Yao. He would take Yao out to the 3pt line and KILL HIM. We need to run a box and one on dallas w/ Cato at the 4 and have Posey, Griffin and Terrance deny the ball from going to Dirk.

    Posey/Griffin/T. Morris on Dirk

    Cato Yao

I saw Yao defending dirk near the 3-point line in the last rox-mav game and he did a great job.

I think that if the Rockets can just outscore the Mavericks by one point, they would have a great chance at beating them.

That was one play on a switch (pick and roll) Dirk has way too much inside/outside skill for Yao to cover him. It's really Eddie's job. Drawing our 7-6' guy out to the 3 point line can't be the answer.

Yao would get burned by Dirk off the dribble time and time again.. if not shot over all night long.. Griffin is our best option on Mr. Diggler.

I don't think Yao would get beat of the dribble so much.. Dirk has many skills..one of which is NOT a great first step.. Yao could hang..and it might be interesting to see the result.. I think it could work.. it definitely couldn't hurt!

To furthur that thought since edit is not available.. Yao could give Dirk more space at the 3 pt line..because he is 7'5.. most people guarding Dirk have to stay up on him because he is a great stand up shooter

Ming could give Dirk some space for his initial move and also be ready to block one of those straight up threes

A good start would be to not lose by more than double digits.

Mavs own the Roxs this season.

More scoring from the frontcourt, particularly from PF (Dirk's man).

An easy way to slow down a superior offensive player (Dirk) is to make him play defense. Unfortunately, the Rocks haven't put any defensive pressure on Dirk this season, and he's killed them.

That alone makes a trade for a post up PF\SF a la Abdur-Rahim who could make Dirk work on defense worthwhile. Or better yet, let's just hope that Griffin continues to develop offensively.

    Fight fire with fire.

Get a roll of this stuff:

    wrap it around Dirk's ankles
pull Dirk's arms behind his back and wrap it around his wrists
place small piece over Dirk's mouth
lock him up in a small room
release him after the game is over
