I love Yao as much as the next guy but the Rockets had a better record when Yao was on the bench at the beginning of the season. Yes, Yao will lead us to the championship, but we were a bad team becuase Steve Franchise was out for almost half of last season and MoT and Glen Rice was out for pretty much all of it.

Yao did not turn the ball over six times but I do believe there were six turnovers trying to get him the ball.

Steve is a great player(with 0 Bball IQ).
if yao wasnt here, cat will rule Steve. steve will rule Rudy.

trade yao to Celtics, anything will be ok,just lost 2 games.

The main reason is both teams were shooting perimeter shots. The rebounds tend to be mid-range or long rebounds that way. That is why Yao got very few rebounds. And that is the same reason why both of our guards got the highest rebounds on the team.

It is the same for Boston too. Their centres got the least rebounds. In their case, it was their forwards who got most rebounds. It is because we shot more mid-range than Boston while they shot more long range and missed more 3-pointers.

Is it possible to enjoy a ****ing win? Our guards were clutch in the stretch and Yao had an off game, but hit some clutch free throws late. We're still in the hunt and some of you whine about the same old ****. The trading deadline is over. The most important thing now is wins and losses. That's it. Save the BS for when we lose.

It can be argued both ways. At least peope yelled that Rice had two crappy passes...yes, he was trying to pass to Yao, but..is it Yao's fault that the ball was intercepted?

That's interestin' idea, but Mobley Francis duo couldn't even lead the team into playoff. The team can win some games when their shots are dropping, that's far from enough, not even close.

OK, so Steve, Cat and Yao combined for 6 TOs in the whole game, but it's not just Steve and Cat trying to get the ball to Yao. Other guys tried too, but when you have two guys constantly on Yao and three whenever the ball comes near him, there's not much you can do but not pass the ball to him. Or, you know, you can just spoon-feed it to the Celtic defenders. Whichever.

That will never happen. Because Rox cannot win a championship with Yao did not get 15 shots. or not.

Thank you, Deckard, for seeing the positives. If Steve and Cat can bottle that sort of decision-making and open at the end of tight games, the Rockets will be a much more fearsome team. I really have to commend the phenomenal play of Steve and Cat, especially Cat's superb on-the-ball defense, down the stretch.

That duo won 45 games two year ago which is about the same as they will win this year. No one can carry a team by themselves except for Duncan and Shaq. So give the guys some slack. Just because you love Yao Ming doesn't mean you have to bash the rest of the team when he has a sub-par game. Yao did not have his "A" game tonight and the guards picked up the slack like a real team is supposed to do. Its called a flexibility. You take what the other team gives you.

Okay - some of you may have complaints, but you gotta agree on this:

Kudos to the whole Rockets team for not giving up when they were down by 15 with only 7 minutes left in the 4th!

Well, it only means that the guards need to work on their passing ability, otherwise they will never know how to play a inside-outside game.

I agree with what you said here, but this is not the original point I question. First, someone tried to argue that we don't get the ball to Yao because Yao sucks. Yaos is double-tripple-teamed and cannot get the ball, this is fine, but it is different than someone sayinng 'yao sucks and turns over like black hole and we shouldn't get him the ball'. That is different, obviously.

Second, that someone also said 'our guards' vs. Yao, not 'other players' vs. Yao. Now you jump in to see 'those TOs included other players' attemps to pass to you'. You may hold your ground here but that is not what I questioned initially. If you wouldn't change stance, I wouldn't feel like just waste my time!

I don't think this is kind of game for Ming. But his presence in the middle intimidated Celts drive and forced them shooting 3s. As long as our guards are hot and their 3s are cool, we win. It is great we win in different ways. Yao apparently had an off night. That is just natural. Suppose guards were getting balls to Ming rather than shooting by themself, I don't know this would be a win. Our next target is Jazz.
