Steve did a terrific job of distributing the ball early in the game. He took over in the second half in usual fashion, but I can see he definitely is trusting his teammates. On one particular occassion, I remember he passed to EG twice as he bricked two 3's in a row. At that time, I said "Steve, you're being too generous now." Honestly, I never thought I'd ever say that about Francis. ;)

Mobley played very well tonight. I don't know how many of Steve's assists were due to Mobley, but I was extremely disappointed at the way Steve handles the ball. Again he dribbled the ball way too much and made too much shooting attempts even in very difficult situations.
He only passed the ball when there was no way for him to shoot and when the defense of boston were already well orgonized. I almost gave up hope in the fourth quarter when they were down by 13 points. It's good that Yao finally played his defense role and Mobley is unstopable in the last few minutes. Boston did a great job in defensing Yao today. Rox got to figure a way to move the ball under the situation when Yao is double teamed, otherwise, they will still be in trouble in the future when one of the guards is in bad mood.

    Stevie Franchise was amazing!!!

Last time the rockets played Boston he had a triple double with

Steve Francis led the way for the Rockets with a triple-double (26 points, 15 rebounds, 10 assists).

    AND TONIGHT:
Stevie had 33 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds. So close to another Triple double. Stevie loves to play the celts.

If he did that, I doubt that he would have had 9 assists and shot 55% from the field. Man, Steve still can't catch a break.

Had he been 100% tonight, he probably could have gotton another tripple double.

The way steve plays examplifies the very nature of our problems. Up and down, 16-3 run or 3-16 pathatic basketball. Wonder why this season has been crazy like that ???? Can't stand this highlight-film or dumb-losing game playing...Sorry, just have to set you guys up for higher goals of this Rox team.

Any other player on this team go for 33/9/9 and helps in a 15 point come back win, they would be praised. Put any other player's name in this title after this game and there would be 50 posts.

Instead, there are ten posts; 6 of them are by 3 posters. Statistaclly, no other Rocket has had a night like Steve did tonight. What's the matter with you people? Do you hate him that much? Or are near triple double numbers pedestrian?

doesn't that have something to do with Boston's overcommitted defence on Yao in both games?

Whenever the opposing team is double and triple teaming your center, you better win the game by default. We were down the whole game until the last few minutes in regulation when our defense finally picked up. Interestingly, thats when Yao started directing our defense with his FINGER. It was a win, but not a beautifully executed game by a long strectch.

Yet we had to dribble into the OT to win this game. *sigh* Still low-IQ basketball.

our 3 main scoring option, Francis, Cat & Ming.

Boston is sending waves and waves of defender on Ming which make it impossible to pass the ball to him and let him work.... its even hard to get the ball to Ming tonight.....

Francis and Cat acknowledge that and use it to the full extent, took advantage of it.....

they moved the ball to Griffin and Posey.... but they can't hit a thing tonight (nothing new here)..... and yet they are still blamed now?

You're always going to be happy with a victory, but come on, this is ONE good game in how long that he took over?

Until he consistently puts up these numbers, and consistently takes over games when we need him to, Steve is going to be criticized.

With all this complaining, people are purposely leaving out the fact that Mobley had a double double with 10 rebounds tonight. Oh, and Ming only had 3. Obviously it was Steve and Mobley's fault for shooting over 50% and not giving Ming more oppurtunities for offensive boards. And I guess they didn't do a good enough job on defense to force Pierce, Delk, and Bremer to miss EVEN MORE shots so that Ming could get more chances for defensive boards. When will those 2 knuckleheads "get it."

Even if that is the case, why is it so hard for ppl to praise him and refrain from all out bashing when he does well (which i believe to be more often than not.)
