It's funny how I read constantly on this board how bad Houston is at developing rookies, and Houston doesn't play rookies. Now our great development will make a star of Robinson. Both of these viewpoints are just speculation.

I hope Robinson turns out. So far, though, he has been absolutely terrible on offense.

Maybe by idiots....I think we have praised our ability to to develop for years.

There has been complaints about playing time....but that has little to do with developing. Dleauge, coaching etc mean more then 10 min PT in NBA.

We're these the same guys saying, "Rockets not expected to do much this deadline" less than 24 hours ago? If so, i'd take anything coming out about the Rockets with a huge grain of salt.

My guess is the next Rockets trade comes at 2:30.

I love the trade with more outside scoring from F. Garcia if he can stay healthy for the remainder of the season & T. Robinson to help with rebounding & size in the frontcourt!

I'd like to know if the two 2nd rd picks received from Sacramento & Phoenix are both for the 2013 draft or is it just the Phoenix pick with Sacramento's for the future?

jsut because you read some internet fans whine about it does not mean it is a NBA fact.

The Rockets actually do a good job with bigmen, they have one of the most respected bigmen coaches in CD and even tho I have not seen enough of Mchale to know if he is great at developing bigmen, he certainly is a guy who knows about stellar big man play from his time as a player.

They also use the D league to develop rookies, not by throwing them into the NBA fire...and a few internet fans dont like that and whine...it certainly isnt a valid reason to doubt the Rockets ability to develop players.

    Thank you.

The "I read people here say _____" argument is a silly one to make. On a site this size, nearly every claim gets made at some point. To pretend any single claim is the site consensus is disingenuous.

Robinson just got patina great situation. He fits the transition game, the pick and roll game, and provides athleticism and rebounding. Between CD and McHale he has access to the developmental support he needs. The rest is up to him. Hopefully, he is ready to gland won't need much DL time.

Can't wait to see him on the court as our PF for the next decade. Just hope his first play is either a monster block or monster alley oop

If we aren't moving him, it'll be fun watching Robinson cleanup around the basket off of passes and lobs from Harden, Lin, and Parsons, devour boards, and give us strong defense around the basket next to Asik, with weakside shotblocking, something we simply haven't had in any quantity worth mentioning. As he develops, the guy should be good at closing out perimeter shooters, which Asik attempts to do (with some success, from time to time), but with Robinson's speed, he should be great at it. He simply needs to be coached, and we can do that.

What's not to like about the deal? The Morris move is a bit weird, but apparently Morey wanted the capspace and another pick for a trade chip. That, and minutes for the young bigs we end up keeping.

Sorry if this has been responded to already. (Just got off conference call and don't want to read through all these posts.)

The salary-matching rules DO NOT APPLY to teams under the cap (to the extent of that team's available cap room, plus $100k).

The Rockets can take back up to $5.27 million (or so) in additional salary.

Colin Cowherd is talking trash about James Harden, saying he's not a superstar. Let's riot this clown.

Well just look at how we've developed the young guys, people thought Harden would be overrated, Lin would be a shadow of his former self, Parsons would be out of the league, and Asik would be a zero on offense. Then even look at guys like Mook and TD who looked like they'd be out of the league, and we were actually able to get assets for them.

I don't think we're the best (SAS), but we're far from the worst. I mean, just look at how Greg Smith went from useless Noob to one of the FG% league leaders.
