Read closely, I did not state that was what I felt was ideal, I simply stated that is what was done this past season. I think they will use Killabrew much like DJ. If you look at how we used DJ, sometimes in the middle coming in behind Boyd slamming the line, and other times he would drop back in coverage, that is what I see them doing.
yeah, I know who you heard it from, too, Chevy! at least give me some credit. . . but seriously, how many of the posters here are also over at the-university.com? I'm over there, but I'm not telling what my username is.
Bull Reese is an assclown. Did you know LSU was about to fire him right before Mack went and hired him away? Unbelievable. Not to mention the stupid spin-down system, where you have CBs playing safety, safeties playing LB, and LBs on the D-line.
Agreed... Reese seems too much to incorporate his "style" for the sake of being different. UT's talent is too high on defense to rely on gimmicks, that end up biting UT in the ass.
Dude, I was hoping for the "WHERE DID YOU HEAR THAT???" and I was going to reveal my all-knowing source. Sorry, man.
If he is used in the middle behind the mugger, he plays the middle. Take it up with Reese not me pal. smoetimes, but more of a HornFans guy for the most part
I am not sure of the accuracy, but according to Bill Frisbie: C: Will Allen (most likely to step in) RT: Stevie Lee (was DT last year) LT: Jonathan Scott G: Justin Blalock G: Mike Garcia Who knows if Kyle Thorton looks good in the summer, or Holloway steps up. Bottom line so we do not have much depth so there is not likely to be too far from what he stated. GD looks to give Albert Hardy in at FB: The injury to Williams leaves junior Will Matthews and redshirt freshman Albert Hardy to step into a role that Davis wanted to appreciably expand this spring (given Williams' emergence last fall as a receiving threat and emphasis on option football this spring). "We've got some young guys who need to play now with Ivan hurt," Brown said. "Albert Hardy and Will Matthews both need to step up."
If your front 4 is big and dominant, 21x lbs work just fine. Most of the LBs for the 3 best defenses the last two years--Miami, OSU & OU--were all smaller, speed guys. Vilma, Miami's exceptional MLB, was small as well. I do not want Boyd as a MLB in a 4-3. Maybe you could cover for his lack of athleticsm in a 3-4 by having quick guys flanking him--but he sucks as the only middle linebacker because he can't make open field tackles.
