It's only preseason but this team is playing like everyone here in Houston expected them to play. In that lone Mavericks loss the ball went in and out in the last second! And I like what Rudy is doing to this team. He is stressing defense. Come on you along with me didn't expect defense from this team. Francis, Mobley, Williams, Taylor are not defensive known players. But I'm seeing defense. Is Rudy a genius or What! Once this team gets the defense down pat, then the offense will be unleashed. You heard it here first Defense wins championships; but only when you outscore the other guy!!!!! ------------------ The guns are cocked and the soldiers are in place, it's time to march and let the battles decide the war.
Hold your Horses Vince, Don't get yourelf all worked up over nothing. Sure the Rockets have bee in the three games they've played but look at the stat sheets from those games and look at the mins being played by the opposing teams starters. None have played over 25-28 mins. whille ours have played practically the entire game. Shandon logged 30 last night, T.D. and D.R. took practically the entire 2nd half off. I don't want tot sound like a scrooge but the fact is we have a looooonnnngggggg way to go before I'm comfortable with what we're doing. Definitely improving but not enough yet to get them out of the 4th sopt in the division behind Utah, S.A., and Dallas. ------------------
Since when does Dallas have great defense? Houston is easily a better team than Dallas. This team has shown tenacity and desire, something that I didn't see at this point last preseason. I predict the Rockets to finish above Dallas and Minnesota this season. Maybe even above Utah. The Rockets will be the surprise team of this season. Also, The Rockets were beating Dallas' starters significantly in the first half of that game. They lost it to Najera and others int he second half. So if your going on a "well we're only doing well against the other teams bench players" argument it doesnt really hold. ------------------ Remember.... Wow, again I am impressed!!! The Rockets played the Portland team to a tee!!! That was a real game. Exhibition my a$$.
