Good move for the Knicks, they need more veteran experience.

why would the knicks do this trade? even though shump isn't playing extremely well, his defensive skills are more valuable than the 3pt shooting that reddick brings. Plus, they would just be doubling the role of novak.

Great move to Knicks. They need more 3 point shooters, not athletic perimeter defenders.

The Knicks need another veteran guard who shoots 3's, and not a whole lot else?

The Magic and J.J. Redick haven't been seriously discussing a contract extension and it's doubtful Orlando will be his highest bidder come the July 1 start of free agency.

The Magic are willing to re-sign Redick to a deal near the mid-level exception of $5 million per year, but sources say Redick's agent, Arn Tellem, will likely start the bidding at four years, $40 million for Redick on the free-agent market.

Redick won't get that kind of a deal, but teams with interest in the guard tell Yahoo! Sports they could be willing to pay him in the range of $7 million annually. Redick has great value for contending teams who understand how far he grew under former Magic coach Stan Van Gundy. His ability to make shots comes at a premium in the NBA.

Indiana, Milwaukee, Chicago and Minnesota have expressed interest in trading for Redick, but teams have been reluctant to give up a first-round pick and a good young player for a player who could turn into a rental for the rest of the season.

The Philadelphia 76ers could be a real possibility for Redick in free agency, sources told Yahoo! Sports. Redick has a strong relationship with coach Doug Collins, the father of his close friend and ex-Duke teammate, Chris Collins.

4 years/$40 mil for Redick?!?!?! Holy crap... I know he's had a few good games this year, but that's insane. If someone gives him that contract, they fully deserve the salary cap albatross that it will immediately become. Redick is a full-MLE level player at best... unreal.

Did you read the sentence following that?

If you're Redick/his agent, of course you aim high at the beginning of free agency.

Nope. Guess I was in shock after seeing 4yr/$40mil. I wouldn't put it past some dumbass GM to pay it, though. He'd fit in really well in Minnesota and Utah

Shumpert is terrible, so of course Orlando wants him. I'd honestly rather have Marcus Morris, and that says a lot about how bad of an offensive player Iman is.

Yep. Iman is insanely overrated. Good on-ball defender but horribly offensively inept.

Not sure the Grizzlies have the pieces (Ed Davis, Wroten?), but I'd love to see Redick on the Grizzlies.

I agree wholeheartedly with this. Why wouldn't the Knicks want Delfino if they are looking for perimeter shooting? Their 3-point shooting is basically identical this year, and you can retain Delfino beyond this year at a much more friendly price than Reddick. Plus, Delfinos has a better overall game than Reddick IMO.

If we add Shumpert, his defense will do us real good once he gets into shape for next year

I've been saying this from the beginning. Although, I thought they would have sent Gay and got Turkoglu and Nelson as well.

Davis for Redick is fair for both teams.
