My question is if you were the headcoach how who would have as a start, as a bench player with good minutes, and a bench player with limited time on the court.

Just for experimentation I'd put my starting 5 like this.

    PG- Norris
    SG- Francis
    SF- Posey
    PF- Griffin
    C- Ming

    Bench:

    PG: Maddox
    SG: Mobley
    SF: Rice/TMo
    PF: Mo T
    C: Cato/Collier

    Bench players with limited minutes:

    Nachbar
(Can't really remember any of our other players)

Having this lineup, I think we'd have a pretty smooth offense with our starting 5 and with our bench. Our starting 5 would have Francis, and Ming to go to. Francis wouldn't have to worry about getting his teammates involved so much since set plays would be arranged for him. Ming should and would get a touch with the ball everytime down the court. Norris would run our offense, and settle for his mid range jumper. Griffin would settle himself under the basket at all times for passes from Ming off double teams, and he would crash the boards. Posey would be our defensive stopper, who would get all the hustle plays and points.

    Our Bench:

Maddox would our backup PG who again would simply get our teammates involved and would provide some good defensive. Mobley would be one of our main scoring options, and would fill the role that Bobby Jackson does off the bench for the Kings. Rice would be our second scoring option off kick out plays from either MoT or Ming, depending on when he gets subbed in. MoT would be our inside scoring presence when Ming is out of the game. Cato much like how I'd like to see Griffin would be our rebounder, and guy that lurks under the basket for easy dunks or layins.

Conclusion: This lineup change would increase pass production, and would give more touches to our main scoring threats in Ming and Francis, and Mobley and MoT. We'd have our sharpshooters off the bench in Rice to provide offensive scoring when our offense is dry. Our bench would be much improved defensively as well when scoring threats are getting rest. The downside is that since Francis and Mobley play so many minutes, one or the other would find themselves spending a lot of minutes watching the game instead. However this could be fixed easily by simply evening the minute production which could help in the longrun towards the latter part of the season since both would have fresher legs. Also since Francis does have the occasional off night, Mobley could come off the bench and provide some good scoring as well. Anyhow that would be my roster change. What are yours?

We cannot make lot of lineup change right now, no time for the adjustment.

But I expect Rox will make roster changes these offseason no matter they make to playoff or not. All is because Yao's arrival. I think originally the whole Rox don’t expect to get the No 1 draft pick, get Yao Ming AND he is this good. One example is they signed Cato as starting Center last season.

Suddenly the Rox need change from guard-oriented to center-oriented team. That is a big change. That is why I am still satisfied with Rudy's coaching so far. But I don't think all people in the current roster fits the new system. A change will make in the off season, not in this season.

I would say my starting 5 this year would be:

    PG Francis
    SG Mobley
    SF Rice
    PF Griffin
    C Yao

I do think there will be some changes at the end of this year though. IMO Posey won't be back(he can't shoot which makes for easy double teams on Yao). I am about 50-50 on whether Cat comes back. It is probably best to bring in a PG to play along Steve, but I don' know if RT will ever let his "baby" go. I would also like us to get a PF that can provide starters minutes, and let EG ride the pine wihile he learns, but there again for some
reason RT is infactuated with EG so he will probably be starting next year as well.

    Francis
Nachbar (yes, I would try him at the 2)
    T-Mo
    E.G.
    Yao

    Mooch
    Cat
    Posey
    Taylor
    Cato

    Garbage time:

    Maddox
    Collier

I know, I know...everybody will slam me for having Boki in my starting line-up, but I figure if we are eliminted from the playoff race that Boki should get some serious minutes with the starters to see if he has what it takes or not. I still can't believe that Rudy hasn't even tried to use someone who was described as "the most NBA ready of all the players in the draft"!! And he starts James Posey who is lucky if hits 30% of his outside shots!!

Yet another in the long line of stupid decisions by Rudy. I say that if he isn't going to be used at the 3 spot then give him some minutes at the 2!!

Was Maddox THAT impressive in the Memphis game? I know he had 3 assists and 0 turnovers, but he missed all 3 shots he took. Can someone briefly tell me how he did?

    Here's my starting line up:

    Francis
    Posey
    Rice
    MoT
    Yao

Bench: Cato (4/5), Griffin (3/4), Mobley (1/2), Moochie (little/no minutes)

Go with the 8 man rotation, let Moochie play 6 or 7 minutes, just to give Francis a breather.

Tito shot technique was questionable. He shot 0-5. Could have been nerves. But like his hight and defense better than Moochie.

His good handle was what I liked. We'll see next game what he does.

From now till the end of this season:-
    Starters...............Bench
    PG. Maddox............Norris
    SG. Francis............Mobley/Hawkins
    S/F.Posey..............Morris/Rice
    P/F.Taylor..............Griffin
    C...Yao Ming...........Cato

We need to give this idea a chance so an accurate judgement can be made about our needs in the offseason!

Yetti, be honest. Those are the players you think will pass to Ming the most, and that's all you care about.

I am being 100% sincere when I ask you, are you a Rockets fan?

I dont think I would like Tito to start the rest of the season....i dont think i would like to see him start once this season. I would like to see him play every now and then off the bench, but definetly not start...not yet. I like the way he pushes the ball, but he has worse shot selection than norris and Stevie, and....STEVie hits his shots.

    PG - Mobley
    SG - Posey
    SF - Rice
    PF - Taylor
    C - Yao

    pg - Moochie
    sg - Francis
    sf - Morris
    pf - Griffin
    c - Cato

The offense flows better without Steve. It happens when he subs out and it happens when he is injured. He dominates the ball too much, and thus is perfect to be the offensive weapon off the bench. When Mobley brings the ball up he looks to pass first, which is what everyone wants him to do. It is the best defensive starting lineup we can get that doesn't completely destroy the offense. The second unit has everyone's "Move SF to SG" idea, as well as good rebounding and shotblocking.

Damn, Moochie has one decent game against the worst NBA team in the past decade, and he's the new starting point guard?

Francis coming off the bench? That's not only the worst thing ever posted on this board, but possibly the most insanely moronic thing ever muttered in the entire history of mankind. Damn StupidMonikor, even the Uber-Steve Hater Yetti doesn't have Francis coming off the bench.

I'm with A-Train. Moochie has one good game and now everyone wants him starting. Perhaps many of you have forgotten The Little Dribbler's habits over the past year and a half.

For this season I'd keep things pretty much the same, except I'd give Maddox a little more playing time. Eventually this is how I'd like the lineup to look by next season.

    Yao/Cato
    Griffin/Taylor
    Nachbar/Morris
    Posey/Mobley
    Francis/Maddox

I mean really folks, 9 and 9 with no turnovers and a W are all nice, but is he really the "pure" point guard that we were/are hoping for? He had a good game, but let's face facts here people: moochie sucks. He's got terrible fundamentals, poor shot selection, and is no longer the "fan favorite." All those spell "get the F*** out" to the Mooch this summer... IMHO.

    To answer the thread's question:

    Starters:

    Francis
    Posey
    Rice
    Taylor
    Yao

    Bench:

    Mooch, Maddox
    Mobley, Francis
    Boki, Morris
    Griffin, Morris
    Cato, Collier
