is it considered a missed shot, rebound and a dunk, or just a pass?

Moses Malone got a lot of offensive "Rebounds" by "shooting" (often tipping) the ball of the glass to himself to gain better position.

Self assist for the layup! D-Mo had it scripted in his mind.

Not an assist or a rebound? I don't get that.

I tried passing it off the glass on a 2-1 fastbreak to my teammate running up behind me. Hit it too hard and bounced straight into half court.

For me its a travel.. as it's counted as passing to yourself. I think that's the FIBA rules, such a killjoy rule (who doesn't enjoy a good glass pass)

That's not necessarily true... it may depend on the scorekeeper, but they definitely gave CP3 an assist on an off-the-backboard pass for a DeAndre Jordan dunk on a wide open fast break. Warriors @ Clippers on Jan 5. It was one of the following 3 plays from the 3rd quarter of that game. I remember specifically wondering at that moment how they would score it, so I looked it up right away and sure enough, it was an assist.

5:11 56-90 DeAndre Jordan makes two point shot (Chris Paul assists)
4:54 56-92 DeAndre Jordan makes two point shot (Chris Paul assists)
4:26 56-94 DeAndre Jordan makes two point shot (Chris Paul assists)

^^^ Didn't realize you may have been talking about self-passes off the glass... if so, then disregard the above.

yeah, at least my reply about the non-assist assumed a self-pass
