So can we all agree that Joe Flacco is an elite QB?

Manning's never had the Baltimore defense or a running back as good as Ray Rice.

Don't confuse this year's Baltimore defense for the elite units of years past. This was a banged up defense, with an old, slow Ray Lewis struggling in coverage. Plus Ngata and Suggs being way less than full strength. This was Flacco's postseason run- no doubt about it.

Also, the elite argument is just plain silly.

And Edgerrin James was a great RB for the Colts.

Flacco was no doubt awesome. But my point is that in collecting all those playoff wins over the last several years, he's had advantages that Manning never had. Even this year, while that defense was not good during the regular season, their stars played their first game together in the postseason, and they were outstanding in those games, holding Indy to single digits, Denver to 21 points on offense (in 5+ quarters), and New England to 13 points.

Bottom line, it was Flacco, who the Ravens looked to in order to get those 4 wins. They don't get the Lombardi with Trent Dilfer or Jeff Hostetler.

Sure - but that has nothing to do with my point, so I'm not sure the relevance. They also don't get the Lombardi without Jacoby Jones or the defense, but again, not sure the relevance of any of that.

Eh, the defense was average at best - almost lost the SB once Kaepernick settled down. Special teams were a wash - sure Jones had that big TD return, but they gave up 2 to Denver.

Sounds great to me - even if he keeps his play up, he just put the Ravens in cap hell for years.

It's only a $7 Million cap hit for next season. This team is going to look very similar next year.
