It's awesome that Morey puts SAS in his place first by making him admit his ignorance about Parsons and then by rebutting SAS's bs on Lin. SAS and Skip are ignorant blowhards.

Love that Morey put SAS in his place. I agree that with SAS that Lin is an above average player at best right now, but I just didn't like how he always picked on him.

Look, I don't think SAS is racist, I just think he is a very proud black man that favors black athletes and couldn't stand to see an Asian be the toast of his New York Knicks. No matter what he says, he wanted Lin out of New York.

Also, lol at Stephen Curry, he looks like he's 15 years old.

I don't really buy that Morey thinks Lin and Harden have great chemistry with each other.

I'm not sure I understand either of these arguments. Having strong defense and having superstars has always been keys to winning a championship. But neither has anything to do with playing big ball or small ball.

Hence, the logic that small ball prevent you from winning is ludicrous. But if one were to say the Rockets can't win because they don't have a 2nd star besides Harden, that would be poignant.

SAS has an agenda to picks on LIN.

    because he is Melo's guy.

He thinks he is helping Melo.

Exactly. SAS is the biggest hack in the NBA. There's a reason why T-mac specifically mentioned SAS in his farewell statement saying he gave T-mac and other players SAS supported a voice. Basically, SAS is a mouthpiece for players he advocates for. He reports what his players want people to know about and he says "according to a source close to [player X]" when the source is player X.

No, we won't win because we can't play defense, and we turn the ball over. We can score all day but we have to actually man up and play D.

not that small....their best player is 6'8'' who can guard 4 positions. Chalmers has descent size for a PG. Wade is not an undersized 2 by any means. LeBron at SF I dont even need to get into. Bosh has good size for a PF, the only position they're short in would be center but Udonis Haslem does have a 6'11'' wingspan.

PLus as others have said. When you have a top 3 GOAT on your team that's a trump card.

That's not the product of small ball. That's a product of not having enough talent. Switch Lebron at PF instead of Patterson and tell me that's not a contender. Even if that's a small lineup.

Awesome thanks for the highlights! Pretty big that he just confirmed team will be built around Harden AND Lin  He knows they're capable of being most dangerous backcourt with some improvements unlike some kneejerking wanna be forum GMs who are ready to hit the trade button at the slightest of inconsistencies and bumps

Sounds like it, sorry veterans, looks like you're stuck with us 2012'ers for a long time so let's just hug it out already :p

Miami played a ton of small ball both last year in the playoffs and this year with Lebron at the 4 and Bosh at the 5. And this has gone on for ages. The Rockets played in the finals one time with Horry/Elie/Drexler/PG in the finals. San Antonio routinely play Duncan at center with Horry/Barnes/some other stretch 4 to finish games. The Lakers played Gasol at center with Odom at PF.

NBA teams have routinely sacrifice size for TALENT. But the key has always been TALENT. You don't have the talent? You don't win, regardless of "how" you play.

Apparently in SAS's mind Howard thought Gay did.

What can one do but watch in awe SAS's mind at work?

I don't see why not. We have already witnessed a good 20 games where they rocked next to each other when neither is being misused.

SAS is a liar. He never said during Linsanity that Lin had upside and would be really good in a few years. He's only started saying that lately.

Last year, he basically created the talking points on Lin by repeating over and over that he couldn't go left, couldn't defend, and was a turnover machine.

6 months ago I thought Howard was the answer to all the Rockets interior problems .... Now I just dont know what to think. Its obvious he's got all the physical tools to be one of the best .... but I cant get over how poorly the Lakers with Gasol , Nash , Artest and Kobe are playing with him. That has to be one of the most starting five's (prior to Gasol being benched) ever assembled and they are sub .500.

I watch them and think its D'Antoni' thats the problem - he has no concept of defense and doesnt take advantage of the strength he has in the paint with Gasol and Howard.

But .... even with that , I cant help but think that .... my seven year old daughter could coach that team to a record better than .500. There is just too damn much talent and experience on that team.

As for Lin going to the Gary Payton shooting academy ... Payton has a really good midrange game. I dont think anyone on the Rockets roster (outside of Patterson) knows what a midrange jumper is .... then again , maybe thats on Morey.
That midrange game is completely lost on todays NBA ....

It's a bit unfair to pit a giant brain, like DM's, against an absentminded shell, like SAS

I'm a huge Morey guy; always have been. But the fact that he even went on that show lowers him several notches in my book. Stephen A Smith is the biggest douch in the sports world. I don't hate anybody, and I can honestly say that I hate SAS. For shame Daryl! :(
