Barry didnt bail out on his team, it was his time to go.. When you retire you should never be told your a quitter.. On barry-emmit arguement, Barry is light years ahead of Emmit.. If Barry was still playing he would of eclipsed the rushing record and Emmit would have no part in it.
How good could a 35yr old be? The league is bigger and faster now. Sanders WAS great. Probably ranks in the top 5 of all-time great backs. Now at age, 35, serveral years removed from the league...I don't think he's even half of what he was.
Ya know what's funny is that he b****ed about how the team was going to suck so he wanted no part in it . . . yet the year he left, the Lions made the playoffs, which they hadn't done in a LONG time . . .
want I know right. How ironic. Who the hell is arguing whether Emmitt is better then Barry or not? I give you Barry lovers that. I could care less. Yeah he was exciting to watch, but don't care. The only thing I am saying is that if I was a football player I would rather have a caree like Emmitt's. More Superbowl Rings More All Time Records Probably more money as well. Gee...so hard to pick.
Sanders was probably the greatest RB ever... trapped in a stagnant franchise that rarely had any talent. Imagine what he could have done if he'd ever... just for a few years... had a QB worth the name. Smith was a very good back who lasted a long time. There's no comparison. It's Hank Aaron vs. Babe Ruth. Yeah, one's got the #s... but nobody questions the overal superiority of the other.
Well it could be like that except Babe like Emmitt has Championship rings that he helped his team get. The reason why Emmitt is better is simple: 1. He made his team better 2. He played big in big games 3. Career stats So if you want to make a better argument compare an athlete who has won multiple championships and compare him to a great statistiacal player with no rings.
