"Does" I ever steer you wrong? Nah but for real, the GRB center will be a place to see a lot of B-ball related folk. Not just current players but you'll see a ton of former NBA players and legends. (Almost like the hotel where Radio Row is held during Super Bowl weekend. Tons of current and former players as well as celebrities). If you can't get to the Toyota Center for the actual game, the GRB will be a good place to be.
Just got two tickets from being a volunteer, and a coupon for unlimited 50% tickets. Volunteering WORKS wonders. I'll be there on Thursday the 14th (D'OH! Didn't even think about Valentine' Day with the wife! I FAIL'd) and Friday the 15th.
I was there lol. Waste of time imo, they could've just told me that information in 10 minutes before my first shift started.
YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH, MISTER CONSPIRACY THEORIST!!!! YOU HEAR?!?!?!?! Spoiler No, really, shut it, man. Sweet. Post where you are so I can come by with the SwoLy family whom I will take (not volunteering, just visiting, Monopoly jail square style). Good to meet you all, Kam, Dave, Ricksmith, other dude whose name I don't remember, etc. Man, I'm tired from all that demon-like rebounding a-la Larry Smith.
So how was the actual volunteering? Just pointing people in the right direction for the most part? First day was light from what I remember when they had it here in Dallas, Saturday and Sunday were insanely busy.
Yes, the guys that were our 'leaders' said it will get crazy tonight and that last night was light to moderate, considering it was a Thursday. I was just encouraging the kids, giving high fives, cheering, etc., while they shot the basketball and had a good time. There were other volunteers that were doing what you mentioned. Each 'station' had about three to five volunteers helping retrieve basketballs, directing traffic, helping people get in line, etc.
We all got two free tickets to our choice of either Thursday or Friday, but we as volunteers can use the credential badge to get in at any time without using up those tickets. It is best to use the tickets for adults ($20 regular) and just pay for the kids' tickets ($12 regular). My apologies, dear sir. FIXED my post.
He is nothing like the dick he is on here. I promise. He is a kind, caring family guy that knows how to espell and espeak.
