I know there were a lot of people, including myself, thinking or talking about the possibility of Yao Ming getting into foul trouble in his first year in the NBA, but I must say, he has been doing one hell of a job of holding his own in the paint. I mean you can't even count on one hand, the amount of times he's fouled out in a game this year. Who would of thought that going into the second half of the season? So in the name of Yao Ming my handle stands for...Republic Of China in the Paint.
    Go Ming!! :)

Do you really think Yao Ming did better jobs to get out of foul troubles? Or NBA Refs are doing favors for him?

Yao still needs to improve his defensive techniques.

Yao doesn't actually foul much. You'd expect the refs to give him some favors (he might be the future of the NBA), but I think it's actually the opposite. He doesn't get nearly as many calls as he should. I think it's because....he's a rookie, he rarely complains, he's not a superstar yet, and Rudy is not known to make a huge fuss compared to the Phil Jackson's regarding calls.

Yao is getting some calls but considering the hacking he has received recently, he is not getting enough calls. But it's all part of the game. I have seen Shaq getting mugged and not getting a call. Yao better just suck up and take it like a man.

You're right. Actually, not even a three-toed sloth could. He only fouled out once this season. Against the Lakers last Tuesday night.:)

Yao is going to continue to get mugged, but at the same time Rudy T should keep working the refs about his Center getting mugged. Yao's got to suck it up and he has to this point, but the guy is just not built like Shaq and I'm not sure he's going to be able to sustain getting beat up so much.
