1. Goldfinger 2. The Spy Who Loved Me 3. Skyfall 4. On Her Majesty's Secret Service 5. You Only Live Twice
Casino Royale Goldeneye Skyfall Quantum of Solace ... I think from there it's more of tie with all the rest. In that vein have any of you seen the documentary Everything or Nothing? It's on the Netflix and it's pretty good. I had no idea they actually offered Lazenby a 7 picture deal. I grew up thinking the crying scene killed his career, I didn't know it was some dumb hippie.
Wait? People here liked skyfall? It was a terrible movie. Not as bad as the pierce brosman movies or QOS. But terrible none the less.
Honestly, the first time I saw it I didn't like it that much. I DVR'd it a couple weeks ago and watched it again. I really liked it the second time around. I think it brings a close to the whole Vespa storyline. Also, that line at the end "Bond, I need you back" "I never left", it's classic Bond but it still had the dark edginess of the new Bond legacy. Maybe I'm still riding a high of seeing that movie. I could easily see a Connery movie taking it's place some point in time.
Casino Royale Skyfall From Russia With Love On Her Majesty's Secret Service Quantum of Solace was very disappointing. I am glad they rebounded with nicely with Skyfall.

Very difficult for me to consider the new Bond movies in line with the older ones. My favorite Bond is "From Russia With Love."
I too thought Skyfall was awful. The best parts were the cheesy callbacks to old Bond films, and those weren't any good either.
been a huge bond fan my whole life, but still have not seen the new one. surprised to see it making so many peoples top 5. live and let die goldfinger you only live twice casino royale from russia with love best bond theme song - the spy who loved me most underrated bond movie - a view to a kill most underrated bond - timothy dalton - those two movies were better than most of the roger moore ones. worst bond - pierce brosnan - might have more to do w/ sh***y movies he was in than his actual acting though
I'm a huge Bond aficionado, and I absolutely loved Skyfall. I thought it was definitely Top 5. If I had to rank my top 5, it would probably be: 1. Goldfinger 2. Golden Eye 3. Casino Royale 4. Skyfall 5. The Spy Who Loved Me Honorable Mentions: Octopussy, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only
Haven't seen Skyfall yet, so can't say but... Live and Let Die Spy Who Loved Me Goldfinger For Your Eyes Only Casino Royale I'm an old school Bond man, I love all the Connery and Moore ones and so far I'm cool with Daniel Craig's Bond. As much as I like Pierce Brosnan in other things, him and Dalton's Bond movies were just so much meh.
1. From Russia With Love 2. Casino Royale 3. Skyfall 4. Live and Let Die (okay, major blaxploitation movie, but great boat chases, and Jane Seymour at 24 years of age, my oh my) 5. On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Diana Rigg + ski/car chase through snow = negation of rather lackluster James Bond) Generally, I prefer the Connery Bond movies except Diamonds are Forever (excepting Jill St. John in a bikini), which Connery sleptwalked through. The Moore films I liked, but they often ended stupidly/over-the top (Moonraker, Spy Who Loved Me). Brosnan? Had his moments but Die Another Day was dog-doo, atrocious, horrific. Invisible car? Palace of ice? Korean made to look like an Englishman through DNA transplant? Who comes up with this crap? Dalton? Too serious.
