he can be more effective if not trying to be all-around.

For example, I don't think it's necessary for him to
fight for rebounds, sometimes with his own teammates.
He can just focus on his PG duty to run the fast break,
etc. The front court of Yao, Cato, Eddie and Posey should
    give us enough rebounds.

I think he can be better at scoring and passing by
spending less energy on other unnecessary duties,
and less likely to get hurt.

lol, some idiot not too long ago posted up here bashing Steve about his high stepping and skipping. I think it's cool. You should've heard the ESPN Commentators tonight when Steve did one of his high skips. They are like: "Whoa! If he does all this with a hurt back, I don't want to see what happens when his back is at 100%!"

im your huckleberry. So im sure your about 12 yrs old since you just cant see the fallacy and idiocy in a nba player who highsteps and skips across court when he is 1-12 and his team is down by 10 points.

fantasy head kids like you are giving players like Francis incentive to destroy the game of basketball, because chumps like you think **** like that is cool.

Whats wrong with steve doin the skip?? As long a he holds on to the ball while hes doing it, he can do what he wants. And whats this about steve not being good at running the fast break, he seems to be doing a preety good job from what ive seen, a lot better than any of the other boys have.

I hate when he does that. It seems so damn arrogant. If I was not a Rox fan, I'm sure I'd think he's an Iverson-clone idiot thinking he's cool because he can skip (but not play ball). Just like Shaq when he acts like he can dribble. Anytime Shaq tries a fancy move, he loses the ball or airballs the shot.

Steve Francis plays out of control too much, he does need to contain himself, stop showing off with the high stepping and leave the rebounds to the other players . He should concentrate on becoming a Point Guard that makes his players better. He should let the scoring game come to him and score when he is needed or when the situation is just perfect.

This is a perfect thread regarding "fluff" like high-stepping. Substance vs style.

Logically, high-stepping doesn't hurt the team. Psychologically, it does hurt the team.

This is just one of Steve's tacky "style" things he does. Anyone remember the "Moose horns" after a made basket? What about the "backboard slap" after a made lay-up?

All these things are what I call "happy feet." They get excited when things are going good. Kinda like someone being suddenly nice to you after THEY won the lottery (they never spoke a word before). This is why they get so low then the Rockets lose games. They get happy (too high) when things are going good, and too low when things are going bad.

The "high-step," "moose horns" and "backboard-slap" are all things that are immature and targets for revenge. It insults the opponents. Imagine Marbury doing it? Or Kobe?

And if you really want an example of blasphemy...imagine Jordan, Isiah, or Bird doing those type of things!

    Never.

P.S. Notice that the ones with the *rings* never do those tacky "style" posturing (Kobe has done the "biceps thing" before. But he needs to shut the hell up and kiss Shaq's big toe!).

    Shaq (Questionable at times)
    Duncan
    Hakeem
    Jordan
    Isiah
    Magic
    Bird
    Ervin/Malone

    Men of respect
