I don't know if this has ever happened to anyone here. It was the first time for me though and i've never seen it happen! Yesterday I was playing b-ball full court 5 on 5 and one of my shoes just tore all across the outside where the sole is connected to the shoe!! I tried to play one more point because it was 14-10 us, but then my foot just went out the hole!! They are Nike...black and the plastic type shoes like the Penny's but black. I had one little hole then on a sharp cut the shoe almost tears in half!! I cut VERY hard when I play and I often have shoes come apart on the sides, but never like that!
Nike is (or was) really good about fixing or repairing shoes free of cost. I used to pop the air, or have them go out like yours playing b-ball, tennis or running, and I would throw them away. A girl I was dating once told me they will fix them and I didn't believe her. Go to their site and look for a customer service number. They may refer you to the srore, but many times will take care of it themselves.
Sweatshops were the first thing I thought of!! Thank god I didn't break my ankle on that cut though! As I get older, stick to shooting and less slashing! That and i've gained about 15 pounds in the last year and a half, the only slashing is going to be by the doctor when I break something!!
Are those the Nike fakeposite shoes? They have that fliteposite stuff for some shoes, but they brought out a whole line of shoes styled like the fliteposites, but instead they had some cheap stuff there instead. I had a shoe where the sole disconnected from the heel entirely -- I could fold it over and stick my foot right through, but that happened over a few weeks. I'm sure you'd never have that problem with the Chuck Taylor's
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Lord knows Mickelson needed that superior equipment during that final round last week because all those extra strokes he had to take put so much wear and tear on his clubs...
I have to call Snopes.com on that one. I can't access it hear at work but I believe it is on there. I've always heard people say that but I've never actually seen it happen.
I know for a fact that Nike will give you a new pair if their pair is defective. I once had my shoe for a little over a year and it tore on the side. I went footlocker and they gave me the address to send the shoes back to. Nike contacted me and gave me a choice of new shoes in the same price range. I didnt' even need the receipt because they know the age of the shoe by the style and they replace them from 3 or so years.... So good luck...........if the shoes are defective Nike will replace them.
Note to self: "OUT" not "JOB". Read more thoroughly before expecting too much from clicking on a thread title.
Call snopes on snopes then, . I had a pair of Air Max which were over a year old, the air pocket deflated and there was a piece that was coming off on the sole. The first thing they did is had me go to the store where they were purchased to have them looked at, they were unable to do anything, and I sent them to Nike and got a new pair. Footnote (no pun intended): Read closely to what is said on snopes "To get a free new pair of shoes from Nike, just mail them any old, worn-out pair of sneakers." ...of course not, we are talking about a defective product not an old pair of unwanted, torn up Chuck Taylor All-Stars. You have to read and analyze what the snopes are saying.
