Cleveland, OH. The only city that could cause someone to say: I miss Somalia. I miss North Korea. I miss Afghanistan. I miss....etc. etc.
I thought living in Los Angeles would make me forget about Houston, but that didn't happen. I can't wait to go back.
I don't miss Houston aside from the food and not being able to attend Rockets/Texans games. Always grew up loving the food in Houston.
Of course you miss Houston. I haven't lived there for 33 years, and I still miss it, but I've been living in Austin, so it isn't like I'm suffering. People really move to Cleveland? That's mind blowing! Good luck, OP.
I've thought about this one, as honestly when I moved a few years ago my wife and I couldn't wait to get the hell out of Houston. I never thought I would miss it, but now we both can't wait to get back. I'm sure some of that has to do with the fact that our friends and family are there. And restaurants are definitely near the top of the list, as Austin just doesn't compare when it comes to food options. I know it's not the answer you're looking for, but Houston just feels like home. It's ugly and dirty and the traffic sucks (I think it's worse in Austin), but the city has a charm that I really don't think you can appreciate until you spend some time away from it.
I moved to Austin a couple of years ago, and I also can't wait to get back to Houston. To appease Azadre, I miss: - The food - Pro sports - Texans (as in the people; Austin is full of Californians) - HGO/ballet/symphony - HMNS - MFAH - Miller Outdoor Theater - I even miss the traffic (it's way worse in Austin) - Big touring rock concerts (no interest in the indie/hipster ATX/festival scene) Houston is home. Always has been; always will be.
