We're tied with the Fakers and one behind Phoenix in the loss column, can we make it up? I think the level of competition is similiar for the Rockets and Suns, the Fakers seem to have a tougher schedule....but the Lakers play 4 games at home. I've also thrown in my predictions (trying to be optimistic) Houston (28-25):5-0, ok 4-1, Dallas is going to be tough even at home. Fri, Feb 21 Dallas Sat, Feb 22 Memphis Mon, Feb 24 at Boston Tue, Feb 25 at New York Thu, Feb 27 at Washington Phoenix (30-24):2-3, 4 Road games and they're not much of a road team Fri, Feb 21 at Toronto Sun, Feb 23 at Minnesota Mon, Feb 24 at Chicago Wed, Feb 26 at Milwaukee Sat, Mar 1 New Orleans Faker (28-25):2-3, I'm being optimistic, 4 games at home should result in wins Fri, Feb 21 Portland Sun, Feb 23 Seattle Tue, Feb 25 LA Clippers Thu, Feb 27 Detroit Fri, Feb 28 at Seattle
haha, a bit too optomistic Lakers go 3-2 Rockets go 3-2 Suns go 2-3 Rockets get another game on Suns, good news. Rockets finish season in 8th spot, Lakers in 7th. It will suck for the Spurs who will finish in second in the west.
Spur cant be 2nd in WC 1st and 2nd must be in diff division. Queens vs Fakers replay of last year WCF?
Yes they do. If Mavs end up with the best record and are the #1 seed, then the winner of the Pacific Division is the automatic #2 seed whether SA has a better record than them or not.
Second place in each conference automatically goes to the leader of the other division. Since Dallas will undoubtably finish ahead of San Antonio, the Kings will take second place because they lead the pacific.
AFAIK, they do have to be in diff divisions The top 2 spots are taken by the number 1 teams in each division.. of course, I could be wrong, but thats the way I understand it.
Sorry. I think I got corrected by people at the office with the same comment last year. Stupid short term memory.
You guys act like the records of all the teams are already set. We have no idea what could happen. Teams always collapse and some teams will have a great 2nd half of year.
over that five game stretch: houston: 3-2, possibly 2-3 lakers: 4-1 (if not 5-0, were not stopping them) suns: 1-4 (their only win will be against milwuakee, and possibly new orleans...the other games they will lose). if we gain ground, we wont gain much, if we lose ground, we wont lose much. this five game stretch is not the most critical of the season by any means.
Houston can go 4-1 as long as they don't play down to these teams. Especially Memphis and NY. LA will go 3-2 at least. Phoenix will probably go 2-3, maybe 3-2. It's gonna be close, hopefully injuries/inexperience knock Phoenix out.
people might want to include the warriors in all this discussion, they are now 2 games behind us and have won 4 straight games, of course i say this just to add to every rockets fan's anxiety...
