IMO, Aldrich understands the game better, whereas Smith has better skills and tools. That is you will see Aldrich often shows up in the right place in the right time, but he just fails to do it. One the other hand, you will feel Smith does everything right in one game, but fails to do anything constructive in the others.

The Rockets got killed in the paint in the Denver game when Asik went out and Smith was in. It's really that simple.
honestly don't think cole aldrich is a bad player. he's a pretty decent role player when he gets minutes.
I remember Rick played Joey Dorsey out of nowhere. He got traded to Memphis after couple of games that he played.
