Yeah, I couldn't believe it when I read it. I had to re-read it several times to make sure it was right. Apparently he thinks one-on-play is necessary at least some of the time.
the rockets won 15 in a row w/o hakeem. i'm gonna say that's wrong. as for steve dribbling out the clock and then passing, that rarely happens (hell most of the time if he's already dribbled out the clock he seems more likely to shoot, his passing usually happens earlier) and it is even rarer when steve hits an open guy for the guy to only get it with 2 or 3 seconds (cuttino is the king of having people give him the ball with 2 or 3 seconds left and leaving him to force up a nasty shot which people inevitable b**** about). we miss so many open shots its ridiculous. and hell, i don't care if you get the ball with 1 second left, if you're open you should make it, that's it, you're in the nba, make a damn shot like they pay you to make shots. steve is not the greatest distributor or ast/to guy (he's horrible in that category) but his teammates missing open shots is all on them, not on steve and they miss plenty of shots.
4 prez, The Rocks did win 15 in a row without the Dream, it was December 1990 and January 1991, Hakeem was out with a knee strain. Year Stats Someone else can verify the winning streak... DD
I think Steve's a bit insecure...here he is absolutely struggling the past two games while "his" Rockets have played very well and on the road, no less. Could this injury actually benefit the Rockets because it causes Stevie to do less?? Does Stevie actually realize that less from him is better??

you sure dada?? i see the 52-30 record which i believe was our record the year chaney won coach of the year (he was fired the next year and we went 41-41 then 55-27 rudy's first full year) which was the year hakeem missed 25 games in a row (i thought it was the elbow from cartwright) and i know the rockets went 15-10 during hakeem's 25 game absence which would mean we lost 10 games around the 15 game winning streak which i don't think was the case. anyone else know for sure, i'm still saying no 15 game winning streak, just 15 wins total (15-10) when hakeem was out.
Yeah this thread is pretty stupid. Steve didn't mean anything by it, other than that it's hard to get results like that night in and night out against quality NBA competition.
Come on guys, this is nothing...You should have seen DaDakota LAST year, he was in top form. He has definitely toned it down this season... Check out these post game quotes by Yao Ming... On Amare Stoudemire "His body seems like he’s 28 years old, not 20." So, what...is he saying that all 20 year old players don't have a well developed body? Griffin is 20, so this is a slap at Griffin's physical stature...Yao Ming clearly doesn't respect his teammates... This quote really stands out... "They couldn’t defend our whole team. This is great encouragement as we have a lot of hard games ahead of us." Oh my god, "a lot of hard games ahead of us"???? Doesn't he understand that the Rockets have to take this season ONE GAME at a time? Why is he looking so far ahead? That's why the Rockets have lost to so many bad teams, because they overlook them! He is clearly going to lose focus in the Dallas game if he thinks about those hard games against the Knicks and the Grizzlies. He doesn't see the BIG picture...I can't believe how stupid he is!
When the Rockets go like 82 and 0 and undefeated in the playoffs when everyone is out except Yao playing by himself, because he is soooooooooo basketball intelligent, then our players will learn to pray at the Alter of the Yao, the Savior of the NBA.
These facts are all confused. The Rockets only had one 15 game winning streak, and the injury was the Cartwright elbow on Jan 3rd. The Rockets were 13-12 after that with the longest winning streak at 4. They actually were 7-1 in the middle of those 25 games. The confusion seems to be we did have a 13 game winning streak, and 16 out of 17, but that started Hakeem's second game. The injury taught the Rockets to not fold...They turned a 1-6 streak during the early part of the injury period to turn it around with a 7-1 streak. That helped them go on 13-game winning streak when Hakeem came back. But did anyone think that team could win 13 games w/o Dream, much less 15 games.
is the 13-12 from memory hp or actual fact b/c i know i read 15-10 many moons ago. now i could've been reading wrong info but i've seen 15-10 before and there's little chance it wasnt referring to this 25 game stretch. not sure why i'm obsessed with our record for those 25 games but all these years i've had 15-10 from the chronicle burned in my mind.
100% spot on heypee. As for Francis, he's bound to have more turnovers than most PG's. He shouldn't be leading the league (or should he?), but he should have 3 per game at least. Why? Because Steve has the responsibilities that Jason Kidd and Andre Miller have, as well as the ones that Kobe, T-Mac, and Iverson have. What do I mean? There's no other player in the league that has to balance passing and being the #1 scoring option on his team in the league. No, Yao Ming is still not ready to be the #1 scoring option, he's not physically eqipped to carry that load yet.
Yao will set himself up for the same ridicule... when he does stupid **** like dribbling through double and triple teams like a selfish fat head or showboating with the ball when he brings it up halfcourt when his team is down by 10 points.
francis 4 prez..this is from the media guide. It is 15-10 as you said, starting the game after January 3rd. We closed out the 25 games going 12-3....lost Dream's first game back, then went on the 13 game streak, lost a game, and won 4 more for a 17-1 run when Hakeem came back.
