Tell me you would not take Cole Aldrich over DeAndre Jordan....

You can't be serious right, go to a clippers board and see how they react to Aldrich being better. Aldrich is a bust, Jordan is not.

center position in the league is so bad that Jordan is considered decent
he doesn't even see the floor in crunch time

People said that about Omer Asik as well. Look how well he's doing now. Aldrich was always buried behind OKC's bench and when he actually had playing time, he produced; offensively and defensively.

Cole Aldrich against the Lakers in 2012 with limited minutes:
9 mins, 3-4 fg, 1-2 ft, 6 rebs. Same against Charlotte.

Am I the only one that sees some hope in Aldrich?
Big bodied, buried at the end of the bench, MOBILE and HUSTLE for the ball?

Compare him to Asik's first two years in the league. Nearly identical. People, he's not Hasheem Thabeet. He still has hope.

I don't see it all. I guess I could be wrong but remember how bad douglas looked early into the season, that's how bad Aldrich has looked all season. He is below average at just about everything. He is lost on D a bunch and just has bad instincts. I thought Douglas was horrible and he proved himself an asset, maybe Aldrich will do the same. He really looks bad though.

Walsh is very decisive when deals are good. He took huge but smart gambles on young Ron Artest and Jermaine O'Neal, he traded good veterans / fan favorites for them.
He's also the guy who went to insane lengths to clear the Knicks cap space, so he knows its value. I'd just say he knows that cap value in New York is huge while Indiana has to be more selective with its bets.

Bust is how one plays according and were one was drafted... Aldrich was taken high and Jordan second round. That said Aldrich is a "bust", but he still an OK player. Were Jordan could never "bust" as second rounder. When the game starts does the draft even matter.

I'd agree with this, roughly. Granger is a career 38% 3pt shooter. And typically SFs that shift to PFs tend to have their 3pt percentage improve (LBJ, Carmelo for example) because PFs usually can't adequately close out on stretch 4s, let alone SFs that can blow by you on offense.

Granger can play both 3 & 4, is better at 3 obviously, but as he ages could adjust better to the 4 due to his length (7"1.5 wingspan). He's good defensively (not as much as a 4) and offensively, is a smart player, and is a pretty good rebounder at the SF position (should translate).

I think Granger and Parsons can play fairly interchangeably. And they'd defend, pass, and rebound and be tall enough (Granger with the wingspan) to over the 3/4 positions together, and when PFs come in, whoever doesn't go out can slide to the 3. So assuming Parsons plays 35min, Granger will play 13min at 3 and 22min at 4. And there's still 26 minutes at the 4 available.

If you overlap the minutes Parsons and Granger play together with Asik, defensively and rebounding-wise, we'd be fine.

And you can always upgrade in a couple of years time ...

I've always liked Garrett Temple for back-up PG. RealGM says he can't be traded until 3/25. Darn. Still hoping Bev will step up by then...

He has the potential and he can get there if used right, and we beat Utah cause well they played bad and had a poor shooting night. They are one place above us in standings if im not mistaken.

Houston needs to Address the PF spot, Patterson is would be an amazing back up PF.

Then Houston needs a capable backup PG, either someone established or take a chance on talent(Jimmer,Beverly)

Milsap wouldnt be my first choice but he is realistic.

    Preferable PFs for Me.

Cousins-Young,talented, can play PF/C, All-Star in my eyes
    Garnett-Leader,with McHale,
    Milsap-Potential could be an All-Star

dont see us getting LaMarcus,Pau, or Love. Cousins,KG,Milsap our the best safe bets to improve the 4 for short and long term.(Even tho Milsap has one year left ife he playes good we could sign him)

He's older but he's very productive... Don't think Indiana will trade him because he's a main piece to their success this season.

I know Granger is the hot topic, but I honestly think if Morey is calling Indiana he's trying to get Lance Stephenson or Gerald Green. DJ is going to be a free agent next season and may command more than what Indiana wants to pay and Douglas can fill that void.

He pushed his pregnant gf down the stairs. Morey has a bad strike rate with those kind of players.

Lance is under contract next season.

As for Gerald Green, he was a poor signing and a bad contract so far. If Morey wants to take that for Douglas, I think Indiana would be happy to accept.
