Other than just pure finesse, i suggest that Yao should add a take-it-to-the-hole move ala O'Neal How do we do that? I always get hyped-up when listening to rockin' music..be it rap rock etc. Maybe Francis could make Yao listen to some pre-game 'inspirational' music I'd start with "Move B***h" by Ludacris Yao! It's time to bust some ass
I like. Yao, you really got me now, you got me so I don't know what I'am doing. Uh, Yao!! Yao, you really got me now, you got me so I can't so I can't sleep at night. Go Yao!!
How about the cool British stylings of Radiohead? Or the vicious disco beats of the Bee Gees? Maybe even some Sade...yep. That'll pump that sucker up.
I was pretty sure Yao said he likes the Back Street Boys back in Nov-Dec I am sure he will take it to the hoop for a jam once his body strengthen up -G'day-
I vote Yao listens to some rap music...50 Cent or Eminem would be my recommendations. Then he gets some tatoos and he'll be well on his way..
You guys are just not in touch!! Yao Ming is Chinese, if you havent noticed. Rap is out, Rock is out. Symphonic is in! Yao Mings character is NOT American and his stimulation can be acheived by the clear word of mouth. He never has played in a very static position before, so he must be doing it by INSTRUCTION. I thaught that a hook shot would be his next development, no rough stuff like you guys are suggesting, remember he is a finesse player not a power player.Going to the basket would be the next logical development in his NBA Game. We must have patience, the final result will be well worth waiting for.
Yetti, You speak of Yao as if he's some robot. Don't take this thread so seriously. But as a suggestion, since he is a finesse player, why not some high energy trance before the game to help him get into his rythym.
did anyone hear that one rap song, called something like, 'where are my gansters...' well, they say in the song 'someone tell Kelvin Cato, we want our money back'
I agree with you for the most part. However, it is definitely clear that Yao plays better, the closer to the basket he is. When he is taking those turn around 7 or 8 footers, he is as likely to miss as make, whereas when he can get within 4-5 feet of the basket, he has a deadly drop step, is developing a nice hook, the turnaround jumper is nice, and, occasionally, he will throw down a nasty jam. So the question is, how to get him to be aggressive enough to work his way closer to the basket.
People in Asia never label or poke fun of anyone's choice of music selection. Anyway I don't remember he said he likes the BSB, maybe it's Wang. But what I do know is that he loves to read books, mostly about philosophies and strategies of a certain ancient Chinese leader.
Simply, get someone to dunk on him a couple of time, the earlier in the game the better, hence, after Kobe dunked on him he tranformed into a mean Yao until he got fouled out.
Too funny... I hate to go here, but... What about kung fu fighting...maybe have Kid Rock do a remix... Classic...
