As much as I like smith, I think jones or donuts could be better in the future. I don't know why the rockets are looking at smith as if he's the key to a long playoff run. He's a good player, but I would rather make room for jones or donuts.

As the great Kenny Smith says, "let's go home!"

Dont know how I didnt notice that .... still doesnt change the point of my prior post. Teams do a lot of talking and a whole lot of nothing else for the most part .... most of it is due diligence. Every once in a while something actually comes of it.

We should understand that by now with all the almost's and coulda's over the past few years.

Darrell Murray isn't that dumb why would we give up our farm and for Josh Smith when he's a FA in the summer?

I'd only be willing to do that if it was someone who could make a more significant impact. And that would basically mean giving him a ridiculous extension max instead of the FA max.

    Alex Kennedy-
Sources say ATL in talks to send Ludacris and Tyler Perry to Houston for Wes Anderson, Beyonce, and Carl Lewis.

Dont make a deal if there is no need to. Wait till Free Agency this summer. We might need Smith but the length of his contract is a problem.

Doesn't matter. Andre 3000 just vetoed it for "basketball reasons".

So, a multi-team deal landing J-Smooth and ZBo in H'town and crapola in Hawksville and Grizzland. Cool.

You are right about Kennedy. Rudy Gay have started to play for Toronto last night and scored 20 points.

Are you talking about Josh Smith or Greg Smith?

Seriously, though, this attitude is bizarre to me. In the limited minutes Jones and Dmo have played, they've really done nothing to show that they are even NBA rotation players. In the dleague, they are putting up Marcus Morris type numbers. That's not to say that they can't turn out to be solid players, but it seems like an extreme longshot that either of them will ever be as good as Josh Smith.

    T. Jones and J. Smith are extremely similar. Would be nice to have those two at the PF position

Alex Kennedy:*I was told that three teams - the Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets and Charlotte Bobcats - had exploratory talks with the Atlanta Hawks.*Twitter @AlexKennedyNBA

"I've likewise heard from a couple of teams that have pursued Smith in recent weeks that they've cooled on the idea because the 27-year-old is likewise reluctant to commit to an extension as part of the trade. J-Smoove clearly wants to make it all the way to free agency on July 1 after nine seasons"

I wouldn't trade Beyonce straight up for Luda and Perry. And I'd think twice about giving up Solange. Her upside is too great.

I think Ferry has two kinds of options:

    1. Trade smith to a team looking to make a deep playoff run and contend
    2. Trade smith to a team that's willing to max him out and will have his bird-rights.

Either way, I think he gets dealt and I think he gets good value for him. No way he lets him walk for nothing in the offseason. And if he waits till the offseason, he won't get as much for the bird-rights.

Terrence Jones had a pretty good preseason with the rockets that gave people hope. It would be nice to see the guy get 10-15 min for a few games in a row to see what he can do

Why can't we have all three?
